We recently connected with Adela Navarro and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Adela, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a multidisciplinary artist with a primary focus on abstract art, I have developed a profound appreciation for the therapeutic power that art holds. My journey has allowed me to recognize how engaging with art can significantly enhance our quality of life and serve as a powerful means of self-expression.
Driven by this understanding, my mission is rooted in the desire to share the transformative potential of art with the world. I am passionate about leveraging my artistic gifts and abilities to contribute to the well-being of others. It brings me immense joy to put my creativity at the service of a broader audience, fostering a connection between art and the enhancement of life experiences.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am an artist with a multidisciplinary approach who engages in a wide range of creative expressions, including painting, drawing, photography, and installation. I was born in 1988 in Barcelona, Spain, and since I was little I have always been driven by a passion for art. I find satisfaction in offering my artistic talents at the service of others and actively participating in projects that contribute to critical thinking within society. My educational path has been diverse and reflects my commitment to combining art with diverse fields. I have a Bachelor of Arts from the ULL (Tenerife School of Art) and a Master of Fine Arts in Education from UNED (University of Education). In addition, I have training in Business and Advertising, having graduated from the URJC (Madrid School of Creative Communication), fusing the worlds of art and artistic management in a harmonious combination. My artistic pursuits have taken me across borders and into diverse cultural landscapes through various artist residency programs. In Mexico, I immersed myself in an artistic residency at the Morelense Arts Center in Cuernavaca, where I explored the field of graffiti and contributed to vindicating the role of women in the world of urban art. In Spain, I embarked on another artistic residency program at Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (Art Center of the Basque Country), specializing in experimental painting.
Throughout my career, I have actively developed artworks, and creative workshops and cooperated in social initiatives that highlight the power of art to create positive change. My involvement in projects within educational centers has been parallel to my role as an art educator, where I have had the privilege of teaching subjects such as Image Treatment and Illustration. I have continually been interested in educational and community initiatives, participating in exhibitions and competitions with notable success.
I embraced my artistic discipline driven by curiosity and a yearning to express myself beyond the confines of words. As a creative artist, I channel my expressive energy into crafting artistic works, be it through personal projects or commissioned pieces. When collaborating with others to address challenges, I make it a point to listen attentively to their desires, striving to discover a harmonious middle ground.
My pride lies in remaining steadfast to my values and education, never yielding in the face of adversities that may arise. I am resolute in my belief that art plays a crucial role in society, enhancing the lives of individuals in diverse ways. Through my creations, I aim to contribute meaningfully to the betterment of others, acknowledging the profound impact art can have on the collective human experience.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The rewarding aspects of being a multidisciplinary artist and creative are truly enriching. One of the most fulfilling aspects is the ability to inspire others through my work, sparking a sense of creativity and wonder in those who engage with my art. The act of expressing oneself through various artistic mediums provides a profound sense of liberation, allowing for authentic self-discovery and communication beyond the constraints of words.
Moreover, being a creative allows me to fully embrace and enjoy the present moment. Each artistic endeavor becomes a journey of exploration and mindfulness, immersing myself in the creative process and savoring the beauty of the now.
Beyond personal fulfillment, there’s a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to society through my art. The potential to impact and improve society through creative expression is a driving force. Whether it’s challenging norms, promoting empathy, or addressing social issues, art has the power to evoke change and enhance the collective well-being.
In essence, the multidimensional role of a creative artist brings about a cascade of rewards—inspiring others, embracing self-expression, relishing the present, and contributing to the betterment of society.
