We recently connected with Addison Bowen and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Addison thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
After starting my business and seeing great success in a short amount of time ($10K+ months in 8 months,) I was growing rapidly and yet I felt pulled in a different direction. I was contracting for health and wellness coaches and helping them grow their businesses but really desired to ultimately support and help people heal myself. I decided after using subconscious reprogramming, and breathwork myself to become a certified hypnotherapist and nuero linguistic programmer. I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on the certification, unaware of who I would even serve, what my path looked like, or what the next steps were for me. Without overthinking it I just began posting about hypnotherapy and the new offerings I had… within a few months I had to take down 1:1 hypnotherapy sessions because of the demand. Overall, this showed me that you don’t always have to have the path to success perfectly laid out… you just have to take steps day by day. Now hundreds of thousands of dollars later, and a thriving multiple six figure business is my reward for betting on myself.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a business and mindset coach. I help my clients with the strategy behind business growth (marketing, offer suite creation, visbility strategies,) while also unblocking them subconsciously from their next level.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I went through a breakup of a toxic relationship 1.5 years into my business. I ended up having to move 900 miles away from my home back to my hometown while still serving clients and growing my business. I packed up my life in 3 days and made the move with my dog. While I was navigating the hardship of battling heartbreak I also was in the launch period of my group program. I ended up sharing my story with my audience and what I was moving through. I had a few women reach out and share with me that my story inspired them to also leave toxic relationships. I then ended up having a $20K month (my first one.) This taught me how it’s important to be authentic online without using it as a diary, your audience wants to see that you are human.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I started my business with $700 to my name, and invested in a $3000 group program that taught me the foundations to marketing, sales, and social media growth. It was scary to invest, but I ended up taking an extra job as a nanny to fund my beginning stages. I would work with the kids until 3pm, and then come home and do coursework and connect with those in the group. I posted content almost everyday and just forced myself to get out there and get seen. I found my first client within 10 weeks organically, and it was just up from there.
