Addie , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Oh my name is Chef Addie Ola and I got into the industry by creativity. I’m an artist formally… I paint I do visual arts, some cinematography, and I can cook. When you add those ingredients together in a recipe, you create a Addie’s kitchen!
I started off as a food blogger. I attempted to YouTube, but I did not have the consistency discipline,. However, Instagram was my jam. I post creative visuals using food. When i started my journey into the food industry,
I would go to project for work. Try to make content and work while on the road. I would come back from work after two weeks in New York or Miami or you know Timbuktu, and I will come back to it. Everything was really about food and hospitality. From my events to restaurants to everything I’ve done so far has just been surrounded by one topic. Food!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

What sets me apart from others in my industry is that I’m in a lane completely on my own. Like a horse with blinders on I am on my own path and I don’t see no body else. I bring art and food together in such an aesthetically pleasing way.
Baby showers, Naming ceremonies, birthday celebrations to weddings. I create that last touch of elegant drama your event needs.
#ChefAddieAesthetics. Lol it’s really a thing.
What I love most about what I do is that my clients allow me free range of creativity, and when you do that to an artist, you just create magic.
I am most proud of how far I have come. the consistency, the work the dedication that I’ve put in thus far as a one-man army really Astonishes me. I’m surprised by My capability to keep going every day. We’re not there yet, but I see the the light ahead of the tunnel and it getting closer and closer. I strive for it and I’m proud of myself, I’m proud of the industry that I’m in.
There’s so many creative ways to get things done.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Consistency and hard work is how I build my audience on social media. I was original and I was myself unapologetically, and I expressed myself until somebody took notice. I didn’t care if I had one like it 400. I didn’t care if I got a comment or a good job. I just kept at it even if you think it’s lame still post it it’s content.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One major lesson I had to unlearn was limiting myself. When I first arrived in the food industry, nobody told me how hard it was and I was so limiting myself to just my restaurants in Blodgett kitchen just trying to make it work that when things were slow, I was just waiting around and then I got tired of waiting around and I started thinking of creative ways using the food that I have sitting here to make an income. See at this point I had quit my traveling job so I had to create multiple streams and avenues and different ideas.
You know, before I opened Lekki, I saw that space on Facebook marketplace I love that it had so much potential but I just got that off my mind and I was like look at what I’m making right now there’s no way I can afford a place like that and do something that big 2500 ft.² what. You know this point I was in my little kitchen 200 ft.² Sharing 10,000 square-foot space with 50 other restaurants. Just beginning and trying to figure it out, but something told me visualize it. So I started to visualize it. I saw myself arranging thing and cooking. I just kept working towards it. I dared to believe in what can be and I saw myself in Lekki and today. I’m here in Lekki own it . I got that restaurant before they listed to somebody else. Family is amazing. Yeah! Because my family came through. But back to the question, we won’t be here if I didn’t not stop limiting myself and Starting thinking glass half full.
