Hi Adasha, thanks for joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Hi everyone! I’m Adasha, the proud owner of Intention HeadSpa, and I’d love to share the story behind the name of my company. When I decided to open my own HeadSpa, I wanted a name that truly reflected my philosophy and the essence of what I aim to provide for my clients. After much thought and reflection, “Intention HeadSpa” felt like the perfect fit.

Why “Intention”?

For me, intention is all about mindfulness and purpose. Every service we offer at Intention HeadSpa is designed with a clear purpose: to provide relaxation, rejuvenation, and holistic care for the scalp and hair. I believe that when we approach hair care with intention, we can create a truly transformative experience. From the products we use to the personalized care we provide, every aspect of Intention HeadSpa is thoughtfully curated to ensure our clients leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and revitalized. The name “Intention” signifies our commitment to deliberate and mindful practices in everything we do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I moved from Kazakhstan to the United States 10 years ago, excited to explore this big country full of opportunities. For the first few years, I was still figuring out what I could do with my life. One beautiful day, I decided it was time to go to school and learn something new. While contemplating my options, I got a very bad haircut – and that was the answer to my question!
Inspired by that experience, I decided to go to hair school and learn as much as I could. I enrolled in the Aveda Institute in Denver and started my journey there. Learning in a new environment was challenging, especially since English is my third language, but I was determined to succeed.

Have you ever had to pivot?

For many years, I worked as a hairstylist, pouring my heart and soul into helping my clients look and feel their best. I loved the creativity and personal connection that came with styling hair, but I always felt like there was something more I could offer.
Then, I discovered the world of Japanese Head Spa. The holistic approach to scalp health, combined with the deeply relaxing and rejuvenating treatments, resonated with me on a profound level. I realized that this was my calling – to provide a unique and transformative experience that goes beyond just hair styling.

Making the pivot from hairstylist to Head Spa specialist wasn’t easy. It required learning new techniques, understanding the science behind scalp care, and creating a space that embodies the serene and luxurious nature of a Head Spa. But it was a journey that I embraced wholeheartedly because I knew it was the right path for me.

At Intention HeadSpa, I now offer specialized Head Spa treatments designed to cleanse, nourish, and revitalize your scalp and hair. These treatments provide deep relaxation and promote overall wellness, something I am incredibly passionate about.
While my primary focus is on Head Spa, I still enjoy doing hair and offer hair services to my clients. This allows me to stay connected to my roots as a hairstylist while sharing the benefits of Head Spa treatments.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

The road wasn’t easy, but my resilience paid off. My story is very long, but I will try to be short. While enrolled in a cosmetology program, I worked in retail, which required me to interact with customers and provide excellent service. This not only helped improve my English but also enhanced my understanding of the cosmetology curriculum. After completing my education, I gained valuable experience by working in salon for five years. During this time, I learned a lot about the industry and honed my skills.

One day, I felt the need to venture out on my own. I joined Sola Salon and worked there for a few years. I loved my time at Sola – the supportive community of neighbors and the incredible clients I connected with made it a truly enriching experience. Today, I’m proud to bring all that I’ve learned to Intention HeadSpa, where I continue to grow and share my passion with others. This journey taught me that resilience is about facing obstacles head-on and turning setbacks into opportunities for growth. I’m grateful for every challenge that has shaped me into who I am today and allowed me to create a space where I can share my passion with others. Thank you for reading my story.
