ADANNA, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?

The first time I made a dollar for my creativity was really out of body experience. I didn’t think I could make money as a creative and I had hyped myself up about the whole process. What is even more nuts is I have over 15 years in sales experience and for some reason all the knowledge went out the door. My first honest transactions was on what seemed like the hotest day in June and everything seemed to be going wrong. I couldn’t get my easy up tent to go up and all I could do was sweat . I shook my head and said a prayer because what was actually going on. at the end of my little plea and come to Jesus moment a girl came to assist me and she made sure I had my tent as soon as I put my table down and chair set up some one saw my tiny bunch of Eucalyptus and asked was I selling it. I had no intention and didn’t actually know what the price should be so I made it up lol 5.00 she took three I was so hype just to have made 15.00 I didn’t notice the small crowd brewing for the same deal. My first sale was stomach turning but totally a learning lesson

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My Name is Adanna Omeni ( you can call me Donna). I am a florist Mom and partially together Human. I Own 1 Blossom 2 Bloom floral design. My focus is local first florals and sustainable design. We offer everyday Design for all occasions. Flora Subscriptions(corporate and personal) Brand collaborations and launches, pop ups, Design workshops, and weddings(luxury elopement’s and full service weddings), community out reach( classes at senior centers and local hospitals).

At 1 Blossom 2 Bloom we know the power of the flower, and it is given for every occasion across all nations. We go a step further by adding community, Working with local farmers first to source our flowers. This allow us invest back into local business and community (most farmers are woman owned) also make sure the florals that are used are safe to be in you home with responsible farming practices cut fresh with the highest quality for long lasting blooms. We are eco conscious by choosing vase arrangements that can be reused and refilled and chicken wire instead of foam for our designs.

I am most proud of the growth from day one knowing someday we will be on day one million and still getting better.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish that when I was little no one asked me what I wanted to be and expected me to stick to that? I went through life as wrong person. when I should have been who I am all along. so I would say knowing that its ok to be a creative and claim that as a badge of honor

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.

I think that Non-Creatives should know that most people are creative in mind and not in practice first. and example is I look at a blank sheet of paper and see all of these things I can do with it a lot of them I may have never done and I am no expert but I know what I want it to be perceived as at the end. for me floristry is my art I use the natural colors and create a mode that can be a celebration, comforting and even loving.
