Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Adam Vernon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Adam, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
It’s amazing how much work is actually involved in launching a company. I really took it slow on this one and went through hundreds of steps of getting the idea for the first product sketched out, eventually built, rebuilt, improved, refined, etc.. Then it’s sourcing issues and sales and marketing and hiring and firing and scaling and financing and so many other steps. No wonder so many small businesses fail. I love it so I’ve been very relisilient and persistent so with a lot of luck and help and unrelenting effort, we’ve been a small success story!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We basically built a repurposed funriture and home decor brand from old skis and snowboards and now it’s wine and whiskey barrels and metal ski lifts and barnwood and so many other great pieces for upgrading home decor and having quality goods made right here in America that are built to be beautiful and last.
We employ over 20 full time employees now who are super talented painters, artisits, carpenters, and more, we work with dozens of local charities too and we’re always doing something new and custom and meaningful for our clients. It’s really rewarding work.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’ve never had financial help or backing. I’ve done this all with my own drive and sales and marketing and taking out loans and maxing out credit cards and almost didn’t make it many times, but through hard work and faith and a little luck we’ve made it through many, many lean times when it was far from easy.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social is a constant nightmare, the platforms and algorithms are constantly changing. We’ve done our best to be relevant on as many as possible, but it’s a non-stop process. We’ve put our best foot forward on half a dozen platform and done way better on some than others. Study, read, ask others for help and collaboration, get god photos and videos from customers and friends and employees etc.. and never stop trying!
