We were lucky to catch up with Adam Marburger recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
My company Ascent Dealer Services, an insurance brokerage firm, was founded on a Southwest flight headed home from San Francisco in February of 2019. I was working for an older gentleman that didn’t see what I saw. I had been utilizing social media to brand myself and the company that I was representing, and my boss sort of heckled me for it. I knew in my heart that I was on to something as I was gaining massive traction with in bound leads. My parter Steve, who unfortunately is no longer with us, and I decided to form our own company. We had a vision of becoming the most relevant insurance provider in our space by doubling down on social media. I am proud to say that we have build an 8 figure business in less than 5 years.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am the President/CEO of Ascent Dealer Services. We are an insurance brokerage form that serves the automotive, rv, power-sports, and marine industries.
I started my business career in the retail automotive industry and worked as a Finance Director until 2017.
I am most proud of my team. My team aT ASCENT continues to make me proud every single day.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I had a massive salary in the retail position that i was blessed to have. When I made the bold decision to jump on the Insurance side on the business, I was making just 20% of my previous salary. I went through my entire savings account,401K, and drained mutual funds just to pay bills. Then in 2019 a lot happened to me that would forever change my life.
In February my step-father had a stroke on a Friday and passed away on Sunday. On April 1st my business partner and best friend Steve took his own life. In may my grandfather who was the patriarch of the family lost his battle with cancer. In June my wife and I decided to divorce.
I LOST EVERYTHING and was broken.
I know what it is like to not know if I had enough money in my account to pay for the gas at the pump.
Then, everything in my life changed for the best.
After a short period of self destruction, I made the decision to get out of my own way. As a matter of fact I wrote a best selling book “YOU’RE THE F*CKING PROBLEM” to help others that were in the exact spot that I was in. I started developing winning habits and hanging out with those doing the things that I ultimately wanted to do. I stopped playing victim and started taking massive action. My business exploded !!!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have personally built a dozen companies utilizing social media platforms. It all started with Myspace with my professional boxing and MMA promotion.
Branding yourself and your business on social media is the most important thing you can do. You must do this yourself!!!
It all starts with being authentic and sharing who you truly are online. People buy from people and we must keep it real.
I will share my story on how I took Ascent Dealer Services from a six-figure company to an eight-figure company in just three years.
I would spend a handful of hours every week just creating content for future post. The name of the game is sharing relevant content that people can use immediately in their business or personal lives. More is MORE!!! Share as much great content that will help people as you can.
I would spend at least 90 minutes per day engaging in other peoples s post by liking, commenting, and sharing other peoples content.
I then hired a professional video production team to create dozens of 60-90 second videos for use to distribute on socials.
In these videos it was important to reveal the following:

*What we do
*How we do it
*WHY we do it
*How it will help our potential client
*Call to action
Social media has allowed my agency to become the fastest growing agency in our space.
