We were lucky to catch up with Adam Khattar recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adam, appreciate you joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Actually, I don’t wish for nothing, I think everything happens at the right time in the right place, maybe I started my career a little bit later than some people and maybe earlier earlier than some people, but I think it was the right time for me and that’s what I believe, every single experience in life has taught me a lot to bring me where I am today, every single job I did, and every single phase in life which includes high school working or even participate in some courses. Everything had taught me a lot. so I don’t wish for nothing. I’m just thankful for where I am today and I just wanna keep going and keep going and keep going.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Adam Khattar is an actor and a young executive producer. He began his career many years ago as an actor in his small town/village in the Middle East, Yarka Village, where acting was not a common pursuit but rather a hobby. After a prolonged struggle to break into the industry, he finally flew to the United States to pursue acting in 2021 at the New York Film Academy. There, he completed his associate’s degree in acting for film in May 2023. In addition to that, he took classes at the Lee Strasberg Institute and Margie Haber Studios.
Despite the challenges, including the strike that occurred last May, he persevered and achieved his first Hollywood feature film called “Holiday Twist,” where he served both as an actor and an executive producer. The movie is now available on Amazon Prime. Reflecting on the experience, Khattar said, ‘Being an executive producer at this very young age is not easy, but it taught me a lot about the industry.’ He added, ‘Acting alongside Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) and Kelly Stables (Two and a Half Men) is a pleasure, and I have learned a lot from them.’ Recalling a moment with Sean Astin, he shared, ‘I remember when I finished my slice-of-life scene, Sean Astin said to me, “Wow, you are so sweet. I want to see you in more movies.” It gave me a lot of power and faith in myself.’
Khattar also landed a role in a movie titled “Thank You For Banking With Us,” starring Yasmine Al Masri (Quantico), Clara Khoury (The Syrian Bride), Kamel EL Basha, and Ashraf Barhoom. The film was shot in Ramallah, West Bank, and Khattar found his character to be very interesting. Furthermore, he has signed on for another Hollywood movie called “22,” scheduled to be filmed this year. Recently, Khattar filmed another movie in Jordan directed by Cherin Dabis”All That’s Left Of You”.
Since last May, Khattar has been working tirelessly, auditioning for various projects, and he has signed with his agent, NeverName Artist Agency. While there are a couple of projects he cannot discuss yet, he remains focused and dedicated to his craft
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Well, I have mentioned this many times before: my goal in life is singular – to gain as much experience as possible in Hollywood and around the world. I aspire to return to my hometown to create movies that showcase the beauty of my culture, which I believe is not adequately represented in the film industry. In the place I come from, acting is not a common pursuit, and I want to return to benefit my own people with the knowledge and experience I’ve gained. I aim to assist them in bringing their beautiful ideas to life without the need to venture outside the country and spend hundreds of thousands
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect is to impact the people who watch you and your stories, benefiting them from the message you are trying to convey. I believe that the most powerful tool in this life to bring about change is art.
