We recently connected with Adam Jang and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, thanks for joining us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing that anyone has ever done for me is given me a Gibson Les Paul Traditional with a really big 50’s neck and stock hardware.
Adam, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Adam Jang, I created Yeti Valhalla 10 years ago in an underground drug club where dealers of all different kinds of narcotics would gather on a weekly basis under the guise of an open mic / jam night in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I have been playing music in bands, professionally, since the age of 16, starting in a smokey blues club called The Yale. I would frequently get into the club, under age, to watch road weathered, hard lived, true Blues musicians from Chicago.
I have never had a singing lesson in my life. I have had 2 guitar lessons; the first one, I learned the chords: Em, D and A in the open position, the second.. I was given the pentatonic scale.. One month later, I joined a band in high school.
Since then, I have had a wonderful time traveling around the world playing music that I write.
Just this year, Yeti Valhalla has performed at The Whisky Agogo in Los Angeles California, opening for LA Guns on a sold out, over capacity night, had two very successful tours of Japan, released a new studio record, Headlined the Burapa Bike Week Festival in Pattaya, Thailand for the second year in a row, headlined the Everything Alright Festival at the legendary Rokumeikan in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan, and are close to selling out our album release party which will be happening on January 13 at Live Freak in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.
Yeti Valhalla is proudly sponsored by KingPhin, an American / Thai music company based in Bangkok and Bandruption, a new music company based out of Los Angeles, California.
Yeti Valhalla has recently signed a record label deal with Wolf Entertainment in Germany; they will be distributing our new album worldwide through all various streaming serviced. Hard copies of our new album can be ordered through our website, YetiValhalla.com
I think our greatest achievement thus far is having people care about our band. I think that people, people reading this, people who go to our concerts, people who watch our youtube stuff, people who click like on our instagram posts, are by far the most important thing in the music business.
I think everything else is secondary, even myself and the music that I create. What good is a great song and a great band if nobody is around to bang their head to it?

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I think every musician who truly walks the path of Rock certainly earns their resilience, whether that be from years upon years of rejection and failure or physical resilience resulting from sustained durability of ones own body after a 40 show tour. I think it takes a fair amount of resilience to even hit social media consistently, to grow a grassroots following online, as most people do today.
Being ignored or trolled, or told that you suck or somebody’s better every day would probably get under most people’s skin. We as true Rock musicians know though that this is merely part of the experience. In the pursuit of glory, there is always some dog shit in the way. The truly resilient walk through that dog shit and accept the lingering burden that it carries. The longer that you spend on this path, the closer to glory you are, and the more covered you become in absolute dog shit.
I have been chasing glory for two decades now.. boy oh boy.. I’m so covered in dog shit that you can’t even see the whites of my eyes anymore.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Love and depending only on myself and whom I choose to perform with to carry out the artistic vision that is Yeti Valhalla.
