We were lucky to catch up with Adam Bazeau recently and have shared our conversation below.
Adam , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Day to day the world can seem like a tough place, but there’s also so much kindness in the world and we think talking about that kindness helps spread it and make the world a nicer, kinder place. Can you share a story of a time when someone did something really kind for you?
Well…when decided to take my musical skills to a professional level, things were hard. Starting from a lack of resources to an immense lack of support from family, and even close friends. Last year I met a videographer, who after listening to a few of the records I’ve written and produced, this stranger ask to help me with all me visuals. He said and I quote “this is too good not to be heard” Imagine sitting in the dark for a long time with the inability to turn on the lights so you can what’s available in the room to feed your yourself because you were dying of hunger and suddenly, someone who’ve been there before finds you and even turned on the light in the entire house. I felt like I was drained of all my strengths, but those words refueled me to keep pushing
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello World My name is Adam Aksent, I’m a singer who also happens to play multiple instruments, write and produce some of the dopest records you’ll hear from your favorite upcoming artists in 2024. I’ve been in this business for over a decades and I’ve built some great relationships with those I’ve had the opportunity to be around. My company is called Loma Entertainment and we cater to talented artists who do not have the resources to get their arts out to the World. We are a one-stop-shop company, because we work on the artist’s project from beginning to the end, and we also help them get funding to release their arts and promote it. Some of those artists we work with, don’t have transportation, therefore I came up with a mobile recording studio concept, which has been somewhat lucrative. I’m proud of how I have been able to invest in a number of creatives, and I intend to do even more this year. There are many others who are in need of support so they can express themselves through their music, and my hope is that I get to them before they give up.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn and detach myself from pride. I started learning piano from a kid who was getting lessons, and since I couldn’t afford to pay an instructor around that time, I had to learn from him. That experience shows me that I can learn from anyone no matter the age, ethnicity, or background, as long as they know something I don’t and they are willing to teach me.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My cofounder is my wife (Kittie Chamille) and we met at an open mic that normally takes place at Kat’s cafe (midtown Atlanta). I still remember the dress she was wearing and that smile! She walked and lit up the place, sat at the bar and although I stared a bit too long, she acted like she didn’t notice me, so left my table, got a sit next to her at the bar and offered her a drink. We talked for about 2 hours, not knowing that we both had dates right after the event probably because they didn’t matter once we found each other. We got married 2/22/22 and we are expecting a boy.
