Acuarius, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Tell us the story of how you came up with the idea for your business. Paint the picture for us so we really understand the context, circumstances, and emotions.
My family and I were on our way to Colorado Springs to see the hot air balloon festival. During the car ride, the main topic of conversation was my baking business and how I needed to find a niche to reach its full potential. I felt frustrated because I couldn’t figure out what that niche could be. I love baking a variety of treats and didn’t want to be limited to one dessert. My dream was to create a “one-stop shop” for all kinds of desserts. However, as I started my business, I realized this idea was overwhelming and stressful. Trying to master so many different recipes at once made it difficult to perfect anything.
As my sisters kept pressing me about choosing a niche, my mom stepped in and said, “You need to do something you’re passionate about—something that makes you happy, so you won’t burn out.” I listened, unsure of where she was going with this. She continued, “Let’s retrace back to your childhood and what you’ve always loved.” My sisters and I became quiet, curious about what she was going to say next.
She smiled as she recalled, “When you were little, you loved tiny things. You carried around small purses filled with all sorts of miniature treasures—tiny pebbles, small toys, anything you could find. Every time I cleaned your toys, your little purses were stuffed with tiny items. Since you love making all kinds of desserts, why not make them all—but in a mini version?”
My sister Saray lit up with excitement, and though the idea thrilled me, it also terrified me. It felt risky, but I decided to trust my family and go for it, even though they teased me by saying they could practically smell the fear radiating off me. It seemed they believed in me more than I believed in myself at that moment.
Our business name, Frost Bite Bakery, already hinted at taking a “bite” of frosting, so the concept fit perfectly. And that’s how Frost Bite Bakery—the bakery that offers bite-sized mini desserts—was born.
Walk us through how you knew this was a worthwhile endeavor – talk to us about the logic of why you felt this would work. Were you solving a problem that no one else was solving? Were you offering a unique approach, or what about this idea got you most excited?
I knew this was a worthwhile idea because, as adults, we often crave desserts but hesitate because of large portions. Time and time again, I’ve heard people at gatherings say, “Just a small piece, please!” or comment that their dessert serving is too big. People still want to indulge but are mindful of their sugar intake. Bite-sized desserts allow them to enjoy sweet treats without the guilt. They can celebrate fully while keeping portions reasonable.
Additionally, offering individual-sized desserts makes every guest feel recognized and valued. There’s something special about receiving a beautifully crafted, personal-sized dessert instead of sharing from a larger cake or pie.
Another reason this idea resonated with me was from observing parents’ struggles with portioning treats for their kids. Parents often hesitate to give their children too much sugar and end up cutting large desserts into smaller portions. This can lead to kids feeling disappointed when they see they aren’t getting the “full” dessert. With our Frost Bite mini desserts, parents don’t need to ration or worry about a sugar overload. A bite-sized treat satisfies kids while keeping sugar levels reasonable, leaving both parents and children happy.
This balance of indulgence and portion control, paired with the fun and whimsical nature of mini desserts, made me realize we were on to something special.

Acuarius, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
About Me and My Passion for Baking
I have always been a creative person who loves art and working with my hands. Since I was young, I found joy in baking, even though getting supplies wasn’t always easy due to financial challenges. Despite this, I taught myself everything I know through books, video tutorials, and a lot of trial and error. Baking became not only a creative outlet but also a way to express love and care for the people around me.
I attend the World Mission Society Church of God, where we learn about Second Coming Christ and God the Mother. Through the church’s teachings, I’ve learned how to love and consider others with the heart of a mother—selfless, nurturing, and thoughtful. I bring this same mindset into my business. My goal is for every person who enjoys one of my desserts to feel seen, appreciated, and loved.
What Sets Frost Bite Bakery Apart
I believe several qualities set my business apart from others: dessert sizing, creativity, and the love I put into every dessert.
1. Unique Dessert Sizing
All my desserts come in mini sizes and never exceed 10 inches. This small sizing allows each dessert to be carefully crafted, making every bite special and unique. My signature creations include 1-2 inch baby cakes, which are individually hand-crafted, made with gourmet flavors, and even come with their own mini cake stand!
2. Creative and Unique Flavors
My desserts are anything but ordinary. I offer a variety of unique flavors such as zucchini, mocha, blueberry, and key lime cake pops, among others. My desserts come in all sorts of colors, shapes, and custom designs, making them visually striking while maintaining exceptional taste.
3. Delicious Taste Meets Beautiful Presentation
Many bakeries focus heavily on appearance, but I often hear that customers are disappointed by the taste of such desserts. At Frost Bite Bakery, I prioritize both presentation and flavor. Every dessert is thoughtfully designed to be not only visually appealing but also irresistibly delicious.
Custom Creations & Menu
All my desserts can be customized and made to order. My menu includes:
• Cake Pops (in unique flavors and designs)
• Cake Push Pops
• Baby Cakes (1-2 inch mini cakes)
• Cookie Kits
• Muffins
Additionally, I offer custom-designed cake pops, baby cakes, and regular-sized cakes for special events and celebrations. Each dessert is made with love, creativity, and the goal of making every customer feel special and valued.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I honestly believe my whole life has defined me to be a resilient person and I am who I am for all the obstacles that I have faced in my life. Starting this business came with many obstacles and personal issues followed that tried to hold me back. Rather than thoroughly explaining difficulties in my personal life I would like to share my story in making cake pops as a reflection of how cake pops where actually very difficult to perfect and as a symbolic illustration to express my resilient character.
The first time I made cake pops I thought it was very simple because they look so simple! I went in with all the confidence in world and mixed some batter without the guide of others although it was what I needed. I was alone in this process and although others saw me spend hours making cake pops they thought I was happy and with out a problem. As I portioned out the dough and shaped them to small round balls I came across a huge issue. The cake batter was too soft and I could not get them to stick on a popsicle stick. I was determined to get it right and spent hours trying to fix this issue that had no way of resolving. I then tried forcing the melted candy melts to cover the cake balls that hardened and where misshaped. I spent hours and hours and hours trying to change the recipe and modify it until I finally gave up and instead made them to truffles.
One thing I learned from this process was that if I do not fix the initial baseline problem I will run into so many more problems along the way. I was not ready to actually learn how to make the cake pops with the correct process because of how many difficulties came with it the first time that I decided avoidance was the best solution.
I decided to walk away from cake pops, traumatized of how much time and effort I put into it without even asking for support. My coworkers, however, kept ordering cake pops. I had no choice but to get better at making this rather than running away from my difficulties I had to face them.
I then reached out to experts in the field, studied, and watched many tutorial videos. At first my cake pops came out deformed but life forced me to keep going. The taste was perfect but I couldn’t get the whole thing to look good but I didn’t give up! I learned that I just need to embrace the mistakes, feel them out and learn from them. As time passed I practiced more and more until my cake pops come out beautiful! I feel so happy making cake pops and found that its okay to make mistakes and that we just live and learn.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Prior to covid I lived a life that was very spontaneous. I tried many different jobs from working events, art model, sales, office work, restaurant work, etc. I also was not sure what I wanted to actually do for a career since I love trying new things and was afraid to be stuck in a 9-5 with a mundane repetitive life. I got into nannying and loved taking care of kids and going on fun adventures and explore the world with them with innocence. However, although I wanted to avoid the “real world” I could not do it forever. I loved being a nanny but I struggled getting stable hours, full time work, and I knew there was no opportunity for growth. Working as a nanny during covid also came with many challenges as that caused loss of work for any sign or symptom of an illness. I began to fall behind on my finances and decided it was time to make changes! I finished my Marketing degree, got a full time job as a medical interpreter, and picked up a second job doing Uber. It still felt like it was difficult to catch up on my finances and my family, church members and friends always encouraged me to better myself in all aspects of life. I decided to start a baking business since it was something I did well. I believe God really has led me to be in this position where I am in life and I am so thankful for the support I have received from all those around me!
