We were lucky to catch up with Acid For Squares recently and have shared our conversation below.
Acid For Squares, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
For us, it’s our latest venture Acid For Squares. Acid For Squares represents the culmination of years of creative evolution and personal transformation. As a media company, it’s more than just a platform—it’s our way of reclaiming the narrative around the paranormal, consciousness, and the intersection of science and spirituality. When we first ventured into podcasting with Awakened Underground, our goal was to open up conversations about the power of psychedelic plant medicines, and it took off in ways we never anticipated. But as we deepened our exploration into topics like aliens, quantum physics, and personal paranormal experiences, it became clear that there was a massive, untapped thirst for these kinds of unfiltered, authentic conversations.
The Acid For Squares Podcast and our soon to be released digital shows are where our passion truly lies—it’s the place where thought leaders, spiritualists, scientists, and experiencers can come together and dive deep into some of the most provocative topics of our time. We’re using this space to bridge ancient teachings with modern science, offering listeners new perspectives on the paranormal and the unknown. The success we’ve seen with our podcast and social media has been incredible, but what makes this project most meaningful to us is the opportunity to amplify voices that have often been dismissed or marginalized. It’s a space where stories that challenge conventional thinking can be shared without fear of judgment or censorship, something we didn’t have when we were navigating the Hollywood machine.
This project combines our personal experiences and professional expertise with a deep desire to foster curiosity and open-mindedness about the things that shape our world and beyond. We believe the work we’re doing through Acid For Squares is important because it’s a platform where truth and authenticity are the foundation, allowing us to continue challenging the status quo while sharing stories that matter. This project is our most meaningful creation because it embodies everything we believe in—breaking free from the constraints of the traditional media landscape and exploring the unknown with honesty and depth. We believe our planet is in a time of great change and these conversations are more necessary than ever before. As the world shifts, it’s crucial to challenge the perceptions that have shaped our understanding of reality and embrace new perspectives that can help guide us through these transformative times.
ACID FOR, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are husband and wife duo Cody Blue Snider and Tanya Dahl, the founders of Acid For Squares. Our journey to this point has been shaped by our backgrounds in creative media and entertainment, where we both spent nearly 40 years navigating Hollywood. Tanya’s experience as a media executive and creative director, leading award-winning agencies and directing over 20 national commercials for major brands, and Cody’s work as a professional DGA director and WGA screenwriter with nearly 50 awards globally, laid the foundation for our creative partnership.
We got into the podcasting and media industry because, after years of working in traditional entertainment, we felt there was a need for something different. Hollywood, as we experienced it, was stifling and limiting. We were often forced to conform to corporate agendas, resulting in the loss of the essence of our work. That’s why we created Acid For Squares—to bring unfiltered, authentic voices and stories to the forefront. We wanted to carve out a space where creators, thought leaders, and experiencers could share their work and ideas freely, without fear of judgment or censorship.
At Acid For Squares, we provide a platform for exploring some of the most thought-provoking and unexplained topics—ranging from paranormal and extraterrestrial phenomena to consciousness, the nature of reality, metaphysics, human potential, psychic abilities, quantum physics, spiritual technologies, plant medicine, and the impact of technology on consciousness. Through the Acid For Squares Podcast, we host interviews with experts and experiencers who share their personal encounters with the supernatural, the awakening journey, and the understanding that science is finally catching up to explain the mystical—something that has been long separated but is now coming together.
What sets us apart from others is our dedication to pushing boundaries and challenging perceptions. We’re committed to exploring the unknown with honesty and depth, giving our guests and listeners the freedom to speak openly about topics that may otherwise be dismissed or overlooked. We’re most proud of the community we’ve built—they are seriously the best! They are people who are curious, open-minded, and eager to engage in conversations that challenge conventional wisdom. Our work is all about sparking meaningful discussions and inspiring curiosity about the unexplained. We want people who might not be familiar with us yet to understand that Acid For Squares is more than just a podcast; it’s a space for discovery, transformation, and connection.
We couldn’t do what we do without our incredible team. Producers Tony Bouzada and Jeff Apple bring unmatched dedication and expertise, while our executive producers—Michael Mazzola, Serena DC, and Pat Bonowandt—provide invaluable guidance and support. Master Editor Justin Ho ensures our content shines, coordinator Zelene Hesse keeps everything running smoothly and our marketing expert Jen Calderon drives our outreach and helps amplify our message. Their hard work and commitment make everything we create possible, and we’re endlessly grateful for their contributions and for being a part of the Acid For Squares team.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most defining stories of our journey so far centers around the resilience we’ve shown in the face of censorship. Acid For Squares went viral on TikTok, gaining millions of views over multiple videos which we put so much thought and effort into. Despite the overwhelmingly positive response to our content, we were censored and eventually shadowbanned forcing us to create a new account and start from scratch. This was incredibly frustrating because we were simply sharing meaningful, thought-provoking conversations. The situation worsened when an entire interview was removed from YouTube, and we were required to take a class on their rules and regulations, with increased scrutiny on our content going forward. This has also led to a shadow ban on all of our content and newest releases. It’s become clear that we were up against a system that make it difficult to create freely and without limitations.
The censorship we’ve faced feels like a direct violation of our First Amendment rights. It’s made the process of sharing our message far more challenging, but we’ve persisted. We’ve turned to making sure our content is on platforms like X, where free speech is valued, to ensure that our voice is heard. Despite these detours, we remain committed to our mission: to challenge perceptions and provide a space for authentic, unfiltered conversations.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
To best support artists, creatives, and a thriving creative ecosystem, society needs to embrace a more active and engaged role in content creation. One of the most powerful ways to support creatives is by interacting with their work. Liking, commenting, and sharing content isn’t just a way to show appreciation—it directly helps the algorithm recognize that people want to see and engage with that content. In a world where algorithms often dictate visibility, these actions are crucial for amplifying the voices of artists, making sure their work is seen and heard by the widest possible audience.
It’s also important for people to understand just how much time, money, and effort goes into creating content. For most individual content creators, this is their livelihood—yet they often have to use their own resources to create, whether that’s through self-funded projects, investing in equipment, or putting in countless hours of work before they ever reach a point where they have a large enough following to make it a full-time career. With traditional media companies often controlling the space, the rise of individual creators is how most people now get their media. When we engage with this content, we’re not just supporting a creator—we’re helping to build the independent media ecosystem that provides diverse, unfiltered voices.
