We recently connected with Ace Diosa and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ace thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you have an agent or someone (or a team) that helps you secure opportunities and compensation for your creative work? How did you meet you, why did you decide to work with them, why do you think they decided to work with you?
I’m currently signed with The Whitsett Agency in Dallas,Tx. I attended the model and talent expo 24’ that’s how I was able to be seen by agents. I feel as though The Whitsett Agency wanted to sign me because my look was different than anyone else at the event, I decided to sign with Whitsett Agency because when I sat down with Loren Whitsett she was relatable & I knew she would have my best interest at heart moving forward in my journey in the industry. Some people love the freelance lifestyle, and even though it has its pros and cons like everything else, I believe As a model and actress signing with an agent is the best route to go after a certain point in your career. Having an agent gives you access to a wider network of opportunities, expert negotiation skills to secure better deals, time-saving management of your career, industry knowledge, and a dedicated advocate to protect your interests, allowing you to focus on your craft while they handle the business side of things.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started modeling at the age of 17, I’ve always had a passion for it but at the time I didn’t have any real guidance on how the Industry worked. I pushed modeling to the side shortly after that because my life went into a different direction to the point I felt as though modeling wasn’t for me anymore. In 2021 I started feeding my passion for modeling again & began to take it serious by taking classes and training with John Casa Blancas in Austin & Later with J3 Productions in Dallas. That was the best decision I’ve made. Now in my late 20’s I’m modeling full time, doing Commercials, print, fashion, events, & working with brands and other creatives.
I’m most proud of not giving up on something I knew in my heart I was born to do | be. It’s never too late to make your dreams your reality.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is that I can inspire people, help people bring their vision to life through images and videos all while doing something I love. (It’s also an outlet for me to express myself)
How did you build your audience on social media?
I build my social media audience by posting my journey over the years, by being myself, showing the world who I am. One day my following sky rocketed when I was being silly at home. I was bored so I challenged my partner at the time to dance battle me. I recorded us just being our goofy selfs at home (the quality wasn’t good at all, lol). I didn’t post it right away, and honestly I didn’t plan on posting it at all. Months later I seen a show submission that I thought she would be a great fit for. The show wanted people to vote on who they wanted to see on the show so I uploaded the video to promo her getting on the show & it went viral over night getting over 300,000 views.
You never know who is watching. You never know who is going to love what you do or just as an individual. I’m here to tell you, don’t over think it, be yourself, do what you love & just post it!
