Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Abriona Haywood . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Abriona , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
With starting a business takes a lot of dedication, sacrifice and many sleepless nights lol, Being a female in a male dominated field did make me push myself extra hard to show the men that women can do it too. So, I used being a female as a plus to strategize ways to grow my business as a female barber. Now don’t get me wrong I Definitely put out great services and haircuts but me being a beautiful female help pull in the men a little more. So with that being said I take advantage of social media to advertise my business. I mostly post videos of me cutting to attract my clients. My most popular videos are those where all you see is my long colorful nails. People are intrigued that I am able to Execute a perfect, detailed haircut with such long nails. My unique approach and wonderful personality keeps my business growing!
Abriona , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I decided to relocated to Georgia in 2017 to pursue my barber career. I moved with $200 and a dream. Not knowing whether or not I would succeed I still kelp the faith and took that jump. It’s been 5 years and I can honestly say that move was the best thing I did for my life. It wasn’t easy at all but I continue to stay focus and driven. No matter the obstacles and many challenges I’ve faced throughout the years I will always be determined to be the best in my field.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What help me build my reputation will be my consistency! Being able to produce great services each time and being available when needed. As well as my amazing personality.
How did you build your audience on social media?
The way I build my audience is by being engaged on social media frequently. Making sure to have great content for my audience daily. Giving them what interest them the most about me and my business.
