Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Abriana Gutierrez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Abriana , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
Here’s a heartfelt and professional response you could use that ties into your portfolio, personal journey, and passion for natural hair:
Growing up, I was the girl who constantly straightened her hair because I thought that was the standard of beauty. Over time, I experienced severe heat damage and lost touch with what made my hair uniquely mine. Learning to embrace my natural curls became more than just a hair journey — it became a journey of self-confidence, self-acceptance, and rediscovering my identity.
That experience is what sparked my passion for natural hair and beauty storytelling. I wanted to create content and campaigns that helped others feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their own natural beauty. Through my work in beauty editorial, brand management, and social media strategy, I’ve been able to combine creativity with purpose — building communities around authenticity, representation, and empowerment.
My past work with CURLDAZE, The Girl Cave LA and Hype Hair Magazine reflects not only my experience within the beauty industry, but also my genuine connection to the audience I create for. Whether developing campaigns, curating content, or educating consumers on textured haircare, my goal has always been to inspire people to love the hair they naturally have and feel confident showing up as themselves.

Abriana , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Abriana Gutierrez — a creative strategist, beauty storyteller, and natural hair advocate passionate about helping others embrace their authentic beauty. My journey with natural hair began after years of constantly straightening my curls and struggling with heat damage. Learning to love and care for my natural hair transformed not only my confidence, but also my purpose.
That personal experience inspired me to pursue a career within the beauty industry where I could educate, inspire, and connect with others navigating similar journeys. Through my experience in brand management, beauty editorial, social media marketing, and content creation, I’ve dedicated myself to creating meaningful conversations around textured hair, self-love, and representation.
Naturally Me Events aligns deeply with everything I stand for because it creates a safe and empowering space where individuals can celebrate their natural beauty unapologetically. I love that Naturally Me Events offers community, education, connection, and representation for people embracing their curls, coils, and individuality. Events like these are so important because they remind people that natural hair is not just a style — it’s identity, culture, confidence, and self-expression.
I’m passionate about contributing my creativity, industry knowledge, and authentic voice to spaces that uplift and empower others. My goal has always been to help people feel seen, inspired, and proud of who they naturally are.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is knowing that something you created made someone feel seen, inspired, or understood. For me, creativity goes far beyond visuals or content — it’s about storytelling, connection, and impact. I love being able to take personal experiences, emotions, and ideas and transform them into content that resonates with people on a deeper level.
As someone who once struggled to embrace my natural hair, creating within the beauty and natural hair space has been especially meaningful. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work can help someone feel more confident, represented, or empowered in their own journey. Whether it’s through a campaign, a social post, a video, or a conversation, I value the ability to create authentic experiences that encourage people to embrace who they are naturally.
I also love that being a creative allows me to continuously evolve, think outside the box, and build community through storytelling. Seeing an idea come to life and watching it positively impact others will always be the most fulfilling part of what I do.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I believe strong client relationships and brand loyalty are built through authenticity, consistency, and genuine connection. I prioritize staying in touch with clients by maintaining open communication, actively listening to their goals, and creating an experience where they feel valued beyond just the business side of things.
As a creative, I foster brand loyalty by creating content and campaigns that feel relatable and community-driven rather than overly transactional. Especially within the beauty and natural hair space, audiences connect most with brands that make them feel seen, heard, and represented. I focus on storytelling, engagement, and educational content that builds trust and encourages long-term relationships with consumers.
I also believe consistency is key — consistently showing up online, engaging with audiences, responding to feedback, and evolving with consumer needs helps strengthen both client relationships and community trust. Whether through social media, events, partnerships, or personalized interactions, my goal is always to create meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impression and keep people connected to the brand long-term.
