Alright, Abraham thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?

The first dollar I earned from creating content was on a platform called “Byte” created by Dom Hofmann, who also created vine. I was doing well on the platform and they decided to role out a partner program for creators after a while, which I was then invited to be apart of. After a month I got probably a little less than $100 dollars, and I remember feeling really motivated and proud that my work was being recognized. It was a very important motivator for my career.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am FolksLoveAK, and I am a sketch comedy content creator. I watched a lot of sketch comedy growing up such as in living color, all that, key and peele, mad tv, SNL, etc. and they really inspired me to create sketch comedy as well. What I think set me apart from others is my determination, because I am very determined to reach my goals at most any cost. I am most proud of reaching 1 million subscribers on youtube recently. I want potential followers to know I am dedicated to providing good, creative, and consistent skits for them to enjoy.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Encourage people to chase their passions. I understand not everyone will be able to succeed in doing so, but I believe it is better to have tried and failed than to not have tried at all. This is also not to say you can’t be pursuing something more stable simultaneously, it just takes more effort if your are really passionate about what it is you want to do.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The reactions from my followers. I love reading the comments and seeing what people enjoyed, what jokes people make, even the criticisms. I enjoy the community a lot.
