Abimbola , appreciate you joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

The process of starting a new business or operation is not always an easy one. In order to obtain my first client, I decided to invest some funds in promotion and advertising on a well-known client recruitment platform. This proved to be successful and I am thankful that this resource was available to me for use.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am a native Houstonian, born and raised. I have always had a passion for mental health and counseling for as long as I can remember. I like the opportunity to serve as a practitioner that can help to improve a client’s quality of life by providing mental health services when needed. I work with a variety of client populations whether it is engaging in an individual counseling or couples counseling. I am most proud when I can serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people that I see as clients through facilitation and guidance.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

A story of resilience would be a time when I was not getting as many clients as I thought I would be during my first year in practice. While it was discouraging I knew that this can be part of the growing process. Success does not always happen overnight so I had to learn to be patient and give it time. I did not give up on my goal and to this day I maintain that same perspective.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

The best source of new clients for me has been through word of mouth and also active promotion on sites where individuals are seeking out mental health services. Depending on one’s specialty any client is able to find a counselor that fits their particular needs.
