We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Abigail Hemming a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Abigail, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
When I first started my business, I used my name as a business name. Turns out, the last name Jividen is really hard to remember. I got married son after that & no longer wanted to have my legal name as my business name.
It took me three weeks to finally decide on a name! I didn’t want “just a word”, I wanted a word the described a feeling.
I finally settled on Euphoria Photography. I was worried this name would be seen as sexual but I was willing to risk it for the true meaning behind the word.
“Euphoria is the experience of pleasure or excitement and intense feelings of well-being and happiness.”
That’s all I want for my clients – to feel totally in love, happy, & living in the moment!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Central Ohio based lifestyle photographer. I started my photography journey in 2014 when I was graduating high school – I desperately needed senior photos, but my parents were going through a divorce, and we could not afford such a thing. I set up a $30 tripod in an old dusty barn, used my mom’s Nikon, and set self-timer to capture fun senior photos for myself!
Fast forward 10 years, I am still madly in love with capturing true emotion, movement, & light in all of its imperfect and natural forms. I have mastered my own style, client experience, and have opened my own rentable photo studio in Downtown Circleville to help serve other local photographers!
With each story I capture, I am offering you the chance to tangibly hold history in your hands for generations after us.
When I die, you won’t remember me. You won’t remember the time I spent editing your images, the gear I used. Memories will fade with time.
What will remain are the images you’ve hung on your walls, kept in a box or a book. You’ve shown them to your children, your grandchildren, your friends – they’ve been around longer than me.
Maybe they’re dusty, scratched, wrinkled, or ripped with a little tape. Regardless of their state, when you look at them, I hope you remember the little details.
The smell of her perfume, the feel of his shirt, the flaky newborn toes, the tiny human giggles, the wind, the warmth, the closeness. I hope you remember it all.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I am 100% honest from the beginning. If I don’t feel a connection with an inquiring client, or what they are asking for is out of my comfort zone as a creative, I TELL THEM. I don’t ghost anyone, I`m simply honest and upfront. In that honesty, I also refer them to a photographer that I know would be interested in the inquiry. Always building up other photographers & referrals helps build trust between me and my clients along with me and other photographers!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
At the beginning of 2022, I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I had not planned on what I would do with my business during a pregnancy/new baby. I was diagnosed with severe HG with my first pregnancy, and I just knew I would have the same issues with my second – I was unfortunately correct. I have 15 weddings booked for that year & it was a lot of my disappearing to get sick between important moments. Those were the good days. The bad days, I had to bite the bullet and hire associate photographers, which I had never had to do before. Trusting my clients with strangers almost made me even more sick to my stomach, but it ended up creating some of the closest creative friendships I’ve ever had! They took the best care of my clients in my time of need & gave them the best possible client experience possible. I will always be so grateful for each of them!
