We were lucky to catch up with Abigail Fisher recently and have shared our conversation below.
Abigail , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us a bit about who your hero is and the influence they’ve had on you?
My dad is my hero and mentor! He runs his own real estate company and knows what it takes to manage people and expectations. He has been the most significant help since starting my own company. If I have any questions, my dad is the first person I run to.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a single mom to a little girl and started my Marketing business when she was less than a year old. I was a stay-at-home mom when I decided to start my company, and I put everything I had into starting it up. I started my company in the middle of a divorce and moving into a new house, yet I focused and worked very hard for each client. The business was up and running in January 2020, just before Covid hit. Thankfully, once covid hit all businesses were moving to a primarily online presence, and this helped my business significantly!
I offer a range of marketing services from social media management, email campaigns, digital and print advertising, SEO, website design, graphic design, and brand development.
I used to work in the marketing department of a real estate company and fell in love with the ability to be creative every single day.
Naturally, I am a very tenacious person, and it shows in my work. I love the smile I see on my client’s faces when they are happy with my work. My main goal is to help my clients grow their businesses, that’s the benefit of our planning process.
Owning a company and running a company and employees is a difficult goal to accomplish, but man, it is super rewarding. I wouldn’t change my career choices for anything.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I strongly feel that if you plan on starting your own company, you need to be personable and outgoing. Especially if you plan on working directly with people on a daily. When starting my business from ground zero, I was constantly going to events to promote myself, sponsored sports events, and made some print advertising to pass out to friends and family. When I first started there were weekends that I would push my daughter in the stroller and deliver postcards or business cards to random stores or small businesses in hopes of gaining new clients. I also did my research, I would find nearby businesses that I felt needed assistance on social media, and would reach out to them directly offering my services. I felt that going into the stores and businesses was a good way to meeting the owners personally and create a strong connection with each person.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
So far the best source of new clients is referrals. When past or current clients of mine spread the good word to people they personally know, that makes for a much stronger working partnership!
