Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Abigail Blue. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Abigail, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My business is called Blue Wellness. I am a fan of detailed creative processes and brainstorming, but naming my business was intuitive, quick and natural. The name for my business is a nod to my family history. My last name is Blue, my Dad and I are Native American, Choctaw if you want to get specific. I love the symbolism behind the family name. Blue is often a color represented as peaceful and soothing. I used to get my identity from my family heritage, my hobbies, or even bad habits, but now I claim my identity in Christ alone. It is important for me to share what I’ve learned through my faith, schooling, as well as personal spiritual experiences that have strengthened me. Blue Wellness is a business to honor God, and to offer a helping hand. It is an invitation to the world, to return home to God and embrace Him fully. The brand’s motto is “You deserve to be radically healed.” Blue Wellness is made for people open to God’s miracles and the miracles of His healing. In John 14:12, Jesus says, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works.” I love this verse, and it empowers me to continue to spread the message of healing, transformative healing that frees, that’s possible through Him alone.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi there, my name is Abigail Blue. I am a young creative who grew up in sunny Southern California. I have lived a life full of blessings and privilege. Yet, I have fought inner demons from a young age. I was an anxious child. Growing up as an only child, I was frequently left to my own devices, left to my inner world. I could be in a room full of adults, yet still feel alone. As I grew into a young teen, feelings of anxiety and self-comparison sky rocketed. Feeling isolated and unlovable were themes that pushed and pulled me through those turbulent years of puberty. I didn’t know how to process these intense feelings, so I would beat myself up mentally, and physically, only exacerbating the pain I was in. Anxiety affected my school attendance and my grades. Still, I could not bring myself to perform (academically) when everything inside of me was telling me to hide away.
My parents divorced after I graduated high school. This sent me into a spiral that was largely hidden from my parents. I wanted to be strong for both of them. Soon after this, I followed my Mom out to Nevada, and transferred to UNLV to get my Bachelor’s in business marketing. At this new school, I was still reeling from the fractures of a broken family. Trying to adjust to this new academic environment proved to be a struggle. The anxiety deepened and burrowed into me, affecting me socially, mentally and spiritually. I wish I could tell you I turned to God for solace, but I turned to substances, searching for peace in numbness.
God found me when I was in the dark. When I was living a life of sinful self-indulgence; chasing what the world told me to chase: influence, money, futile relationships that didn’t bring me closer to God. I cried out to God to save me from addiction, and He carried me through. I am free from substance use and abuse, all because of Him. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus says, “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Surrender allowed me space to connect with God again. When I say God, I mean our Creator, the One who made each of us, with our own talents, our own joys, our own detailed purpose, history, and future.
Blue Wellness is less than five years old, but it’s currently in the process of being reborn. Similar to how I was reborn in Christ, God is leading my business through a similar rebirth. My YouTube channel has become a place of prayer, and I would love to invite you there to pray with me (@AbbyBlueWellnessLLC).
I believe I bring a unique perspective to the table, as someone who has experienced crippling anxiety firsthand, for years and years, through many life changes. I used to be wholly terrified to give presentations in class (even as young as fifth grade). Yet today, I embrace situations where I can speak to others. God alone gave me confidence in myself. Confidence to show up, to be me, and to accept that not everyone will love what I have to say. I am someone who finds the good in everything, so I love to be of service where I can. I believe I have a talent for speaking to the parts of people that they’ve rejected, and bringing that part into wholeness with a gentle and patient understanding, only by the power and love of Jesus Christ.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My favorite psychology professor, Dr. Taylor, told us the only way you can be resilient in life is by having a strong support system. A strong support system with people who care for your well-being, love you, and “hold up a positive mirror to you.” You can’t get through life on your own, and you have to be able to trust the people closest to you. When someone can hold up a positive mirror to you, they can show you your strengths, your talents, your innate beauty. This is important, because we all get a little lost sometimes along the way. My Mom has always been an integral part of my support system.
Recently, God put it on my heart to confess a secret, to my Momma. This secret was easy to hold, I ended up holding this weight for half of my life, thinking I would just never tell her. Of course, what we think is the easiest way, often is not harmless. As you can expect, I was terrified to finally reveal this thing to my Mom. I worried how she would take it, how she would react, how it would make her feel. I had to surrender these worries, casting them onto God, and trust that since He wanted me to share it, He had planned intentionally, and He would carry us both through it. I prayed about it, wrote her a letter, revised it, and prayed about it for weeks. Finally, I worked up the courage and I asked God to be with us. I left the letter for my Mom, and she responded with such love and tenderness, I could feel God speaking through her to me. There was no judgement, no anger, no hurt feelings. God has softened our hearts, and for that I’m eternally grateful. Resilience doesn’t always make situations easy, but it means that facing them will be worth it. For me in this situation, resilience meant surrender.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
My favorite resource as an entrepreneur, and human, is God. My faith is the center of my life, and it’s utterly important for me to follow God in business. I do this by praying routinely, and checking my heart. I have a little leather bound journal that I carry in my bag nearly all the time, so it’s on hand when inspiration strikes, it’s become my prayer journal, my place of peace. I have been praying since I was a little girl. I didn’t always know what I was doing, or exactly what to say, but I have grown into it over the years. And I do have some entrepreneur-friendly tips. 1. Make your prayers unique and tailored to you. I like to get intentional and creative with word choices, verses, and affirmations, giving prayers “themes” sometimes. 2. Get inspiration wherever you find it. Sometimes song lyrics stick out to me, and I want to add them to my prayers. You can add quotes or phrases from your favorite people in business too. A great thing you can add is specific prayers from the Bible, verses or parables that resonate with you. Using scripture in prayers is powerful because it aligns you with God’s written word. I love that there’s no plagiarism in prayer too, you can even pray the same prayer over and over again. 3. Prayers have different purposes. Some prayers are for guidance, blessings, or giving thanks, like asking for protection & healing for my business and clients; some prayers are for gratitude, some for clarity, some are intercessory & some are all of the above.
We all come with our own perspective, each of us unique. Listen to the Holy Spirit and it will tell you who/what to pray for. Forgive, repent, pray in Jesus’ name, always ask that God’s will be done, and remember to use your tongue to speak life (Proverbs 18:21).
