Abby, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Layne Studio was inspired by the heart of small business. After a decade working with global brands on their merchandising and marketing strategy, I knew I wanted to start something that can help others make their business dreams come true. Brand strategy and creative direction are my vibe, so why not turn my expertise into something that can help others be successful?!

My mission is to bring clarity, confidence and peace of mind to small businesses and entrepreneurs through empathy based strategy. I always want my clients to feel understood, inspired and empowered after collaborating with me so they can make a positive difference doing what they love.

Abby, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

One of my favorite courses in college was Fashion Theory. The class was not so much about the fashion but about the people and WHY they wore what they wore. It was so inspiring to study merchandising from a lens of empathy with only an open mind. The value of that class has stayed with me and has helped me see business with a different view than most.

I am the founder of Layne Studio, a brand strategy studio for small business and entrepreneurs. I collaborate with my clients to design empathy based brand strategy that helps them create meaningful connections with their dream clients or customers. Connections cannot happen without thoughtful communication and thoughtful communication cannot happen without an open mind and understanding of others. That is the foundation for a successful business. I take the time to really allow my clients to reflect on their why, their vision, and how they want to communicate their message. My job as their Brand Strategist is to learn everything I can about their vision so that I can create an organized strategy with clear direction that makes them feel empowered to positively impact the world through their products or services.

I am so proud to support small businesses through Layne Studio because they are the heart of the community and their passion always keeps me inspired! Something I will never get tired of is the peace and inspiration I see in my clients after a brand strategy session. Totally jazzes me to do what I do!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My goal is to empower entrepreneurs to feel confident in their vision and to set them up for success in their business through creative strategy and actionable solutions.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Never try to be anything but yourself. If it doesn’t feel right, then it probably isn’t right for you! There is a difference between getting out of your comfort zone and going down a path that does not feel true to you.

Your authenticity will shine through in all you do and it will bring you peace to show up in the world (and in business) as exactly who you are.
