We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Abby Green a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Abby, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
There are many businesses out there. And woman run businesses are starting to take the stage with some incredible deliverables. But for mothers who are craving more flexibility in the workplace and at home, we wanted to create an experience specifically for them.
Pursuing HER Purpose was created to help mothers who are curious about online business. Instead of trading time for money, we help them create an impact while creating an income all while not losing themselves or their values along the way.

Abby, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I worked in corporate America for 13 years in a traveling sales role. When I became pregnant with our third child, in the middle of the pandemic, and then got a Down syndrome diagnosis… I knew something needed to change. I was burned out in every area of my life and no one was getting the truest version of me. I now take my students and clients on a similar journey that I went on (just much more expedited now that I’ve lived it myself and by supporting others).
At Pursuing HER Purpose we have created online courses to help people learn how to create their own online offers. Whether it’s to start a podcast, to create a digital course, or to build an online business from scratch, we have helped hundred of women succeed in our first year of business.
I also work as a business and mindset coach helping women keep their priorities while moving their lives in the direction they desire. I use a root cause approach asking the question behind the question to discover fears and lies that keep my clients stuck.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
My sales career owned me. It was my identity and I felt that if I left it I would be leaving behind a part of me.
And you know what, I did leave part of me behind… but that was a part of me that was always meant to be part of my story but not of my future.
When I left my career to take entrepreneurship part time (and then eventually full time a year later) I was scared, uncertain, and lost. It was not an easy switch and even if it felt lighter, there was a learning curve to discovering who I was again.
I was able to hold on to the parts of me that I loved, the parts that served my future and that supported my overall vision. I white knuckled the other parts for far too long until I realized that in order to move forward, I had to release a part of me that was holding me back.
When I said goodbye to her, I didn’t forget her. Instead I let her be part of my foundation to build a new.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Amy and I were college cross country teammates. We spoke in passing and had a few crossover friends but were really nothing more than casual friends. After college we lost touch until we both were getting married around the same time. Our Facebook messenger chats were full of wedding details and trading vendors and we even got married at the same venue!
A few years later we were pregnant and then had newborns at the same time and that’s when our messenger chats lead to text messages and an inperson walk with our babies. From there our friendship grew and when we both spoke up about wanting to start a podcast, we started trading ideas again.
One day I pitched a proposal to do the podcast together since we shared a similar vision with opposite strengths and the rest is history!
