We were lucky to catch up with Abby Coello recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Abby thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
One of the best ways I’ve shown customer appreciation was during a live painting event I hosted at a gallery. A woman came in and was mesmerized by one of my pieces but mentioned it was slightly out of her budget. I could see how much the artwork spoke to her, so I offered to personalize a smaller version just for her. She was overjoyed not only because I was willing to work with her budget but because the personalized piece felt even more special.
It wasn’t just about the sale for me it was about making sure she felt seen and valued as someone who truly connected with my art. Her gratitude was overwhelming; she later sent me photos of the piece displayed in her home, saying it inspired her daily. Moments like that remind me why I do what I do creating art that resonates with people and offering kindness to make it accessible.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello readers! I’m thrilled to share my story with you today, I’m an artist, designer, and creative visionary originally from Honduras, now building my career in the U.S. My journey into this field began with a deep love for art and an innate desire to transform spaces into places where people feel truly at home.
My work revolves around creating abstract paintings that add depth and emotion to interiors, remodeling homes to align with my clients’ visions, and crafting 3D renderings to bring their ideas to life. I’m also working toward earning my home stager certification, which will allow me to expand my services and help clients showcase their homes in the best light possible.
What sets my work apart is my focus on creating spaces that feel both unique and personal—spaces where people can feel free, safe, and at ease. Every project, whether it’s a custom painting or a home remodel, is approached with the goal of turning my client’s dreams into reality while ensuring they feel involved and valued throughout the process.
One of the moments I’m most proud of was collaborating with a gallery for a live art session, where I got to witness firsthand how my art resonated with others. It reinforced my belief in the power of creativity to connect and inspire.
Ultimately, I want my clients and followers to know that my work is a reflection of my passion for creating meaningful spaces and experiences. Whether it’s through art or design, my goal is to bring beauty, comfort, and personality into every project I take on.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One story that truly reflects my resilience happened when I moved to the U.S. and had to essentially start my career from scratch. Leaving behind my established network and comfort zone in Honduras was one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced, but I was determined to pursue my dreams in a new environment.
At first, it was overwhelming learning to navigate a new culture while trying to establish myself as an artist and designer. But instead of letting fear take over, I embraced every opportunity, no matter how small, and treated it as a stepping stone. One particularly difficult moment was when I approached a gallery owner to display my work. Despite my nerves, I was upfront about what I could offer and negotiated terms that made it possible for me to showcase my art. That moment reminded me of the strength in advocating for yourself, even when you’re unsure of the outcome.
Balancing multiple roles, freelancing as a community manager while pursuing my art and design projects also tested my perseverance. But I’ve learned to focus on my passion for creating unique spaces and let that drive me forward. Every challenge has been an opportunity to grow, and today, I feel stronger and more prepared for the future.
This journey has taught me that resilience isn’t about never falling down, it’s about standing up every single time and trusting in the process.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories involves exhibitions where I was invited to small markets aimed at supporting new businesses. These events took place in cozy spaces like restaurants, parks, and venues with activities tailored for young adults and families. They were perfect opportunities to connect with people and showcase my art.
At one of these events, I collaborated on a live painting session with another artist from Honduras. As we painted side by side, we started talking and suddenly realized we had met years ago when we were younger! It was such an unexpected and special moment.
We shared stories about our journeys as artists how challenging it was at first to gain support from loved ones and how that support eventually became our driving force. It felt like a full-circle moment for both of us. By the end of the event, not only had we created something beautiful, but we also presented our paintings together, which gave the experience an even deeper meaning.
This story stands out to me because it highlights the power of community and collaboration. Events like these remind me that marketing isn’t just about showcasing your work it’s about making genuine connections and finding inspiration in shared experiences.
