Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Abbey Bruggeworth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Abbey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
There is not doubt that the influencer marketing world is HUGE. As we just saw during the “influencer olympics” at Coachella, large brands are benefiting immensely off of investing into influencers. What if you’re a small business with a limited budget for influencer marketing? That’s okay! There is a demographic of nano influencers that would love the opportunity to partner with a small business that meshes well with their brand. I think we will begin to see small businesses working with nano-influencers more and more in a way that mimics these large brands and builds a community to gain reach. Here in Charlotte, North Carolina, I am encouraging my small business clients to choose 2-3 extremely engaged influencers to create original content while become invested in the brand.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Any advice for managing a team?
Managing a team is arguably the most difficult part of running a business. For me, I see my business as my baby and thus it is difficult for me to give up control. Delegation is truly the only way that you can scale a business. Hiring a team that embodies your values is key. Always check in with your employees – assess what is working and what isn’t. Don’t take anything personal. And be able to pivot if needed.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Love this question! I started by simply starting. So many people allow themselves to get in the way of their own potential. Throw that out the window and start! I began building my platform by sharing what interested me, what I was doing day to day, and just being myself. The more planned and curated it is, the less it’s authentic. Be you and share the big things, share the small things, and everything in between. It may seem like nobody cares, but trust me they do!
