Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aatmica Ojha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aatmica, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My work embodies a deep commitment to philanthropy through art. In the year 2021, I got a chance to participate in a fundraiser called ‘Support Breast Cancer Survivors through Art’ where I donated 50% of my earnings from the sold painting. This event was a turning point in my life as I realized that art can be used for a higher good!
Since then I have been actively participating in exhibitions, charity drives, fundraisers, auctions, donations etc for social causes.
Some of them are as follows:
‘300 Plates’- Donation drive for differently abled artists, Art Access, UT (2025)
‘Pink October’- Breast Cancer Awareness
Exhibition, Singulart, France (2022)
Art for Ukraine Charity Drive, UT (2022)
‘Twitter Art Exhibit’- Supporting the Encephalitis Society, UK (2022)
‘Colors of Life- Art brings Hope’ -Art Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) India (2022)
I am also engaged in art education and community projects. I lead the ‘Art Literacy Program’ and involved in fundraising through art auction for two new playgrounds at Viewmont Elementary School, Murray.

Aatmica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My artwork explores the depths of human emotion and the natural world through a vibrant interplay of color, texture and movement. Using glue as a fundamental medium, I create rich, layered surfaces that give each piece a tactile, almost sculptural presence. The viscosity of glue allows me to mold and shape organic forms, at the same time, letting the colors flow about and travel their own path. Hence, achieving designs that are unique and captivating. I believe that Nature makes the best patterns! I draw inspiration from elements such as water, fire, and earth, seeking to capture their essence through bold, energetic strokes and dynamic color palettes. Motivated by a desire to evoke deep emotional responses, I embrace an intuitive process, letting each piece evolve organically. By allowing the medium to guide me, I create art that is both spontaneous and deeply personal. Through my art, I invite viewers to explore their own interpretations, finding meaning in the intricate layers and fluid motion of my work. My goal is to spark curiosity, provoke thought, and offer a visual journey into the subconscious.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
A society can play a significant role in supporting artists by creating an environment that fosters creativity, provides opportunities, and values the contributions that artists make to culture and society. Here are several ways in which a society can support artists:
1. *Financial Support and Grants*
– *Artist Grants*: Establish funding programs that provide financial assistance for artists to create, exhibit, and distribute their work. This could include government-funded grants or private sponsorships.
– *Subsidized Studios and Spaces*: Create subsidized studio spaces for artists to work, especially in urban areas where rental costs are high. This helps reduce financial barriers to artistic production.
2. *Public Art Initiatives*
– *Public Art Installations*: Support public art installations and murals in public spaces, parks, and buildings. This not only beautifies the environment but also provides exposure to local artists.
– *Art Exhibitions and Festivals*: Organize and fund art exhibitions, festivals, and cultural events where local artists can showcase their work to the public.
3. *Access to Education and Training*
– *Art Education*: Invest in art programs in schools and universities to nurture artistic talent from a young age. Offering scholarships for aspiring artists can also help them pursue their craft.
– *Workshops and Mentorship*: Provide workshops, mentorship programs, and residencies where artists can learn from more established professionals in their field, exchange ideas, and grow their skills.
4. *Fostering Art Communities*
– *Create Artist Communities*: Encourage the creation of artist collectives and communities where artists can collaborate, share resources, and promote each other’s work.
– *Networking Opportunities*: Organize networking events, art fairs, and conferences where artists can meet collectors, curators, critics, and other creatives.
5. *Promotion and Exposure*
– *Art Galleries and Online Platforms*: Support local galleries, both physical and online, where artists can exhibit their work. Platforms like Artsy or Saatchi Art can give global exposure to local artists.
– *Social Media and Digital Marketing*: Help artists market their work by promoting them through social media, websites, and art publications.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Building an audience on social media, especially as an artist or content creator, takes time, effort, and a clear strategy. Here are some steps you can follow to grow and engage your audience effectively:
1. Consistency- Post consistently, whether it’s daily or weekly. Consistency is key to staying in the minds of your audience.
2. Storytelling- Share your journey, process, and experiences behind your art. Audiences are often drawn to stories, and they will feel more connected to your work when you share your creative process or personal anecdotes.
3. Appropriate Hashtags- Use two kinds of hashtags:
– Specific Hashtags: These include hashtags that are relevant to your content. For example: Visual artists can use #art #artforsale #fineart
– Generic Hashtags: These include hashtags that are broadly used for content on social media. For example: #post #reel #youtubevideo
5. Collaborate with Other Creators:
Partnering with other artists, influencers, or creators for collaborations helps expose your profile to their audience and vice versa. This can also mean cross-promoting each other’s work.
6. Make Reels: A reel is a short video format, typically lasting anywhere from 15 to 60 seconds, primarily used on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Reels are designed to showcase engaging, creative, or entertaining content in a fast-paced and visually appealing way. These videos often feature music, effects, and transitions, and they can be used for a variety of purposes, such as:
– Promoting Products or Services
– Showing Behind-the-Scenes Content
– Sharing Tutorials or Tips
– Displaying Art, Fashion, or Personal Style
– Entertaining Viewers with Funny or Creative Clips
Reels are especially popular for their ability to reach a wide audience due to social media platforms’ algorithms favoring them, making them an excellent tool for content creators, influencers, and businesses to gain visibility.
