Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron The Artist. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aaron , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
By the grace of God, I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing what I love (drawing/designing) full time.
When I realized that I could the same amount of money doing this on the side as I was earning at my (then) side and in less hours, I knew it was time to go in-all.
If I actually charged my worth sooner, the process would have more along much faster.

Aaron , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Aaron, I run Aaron the Artist LLC, a multimedia arts company that provides illustration, animation and design. I’ve been drawing since before I was able to walk. I didn’t really start taking drawing seriously until I start winning all of these art contests (I honestly thought everyone could draw). The problem I solve now is I help brands/clients stand out by creating custom attention grabbing art. I’m most proud of the artwork I did for Delta Air Lines; also, I’m very proud of the content I created in the Spring/Summer of 2020. One thing I want people to know is my dream goal is create the biggest minority run animation studio in the world.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories came on accident. I was talked into jumping in a styles drawing challenge. I drew a version of myself in 6 different styles and posted it online on IG. It wound up becoming my most liked/shared/saved post ever and lead to a few months of paid requests. I was completely taken by surprise, but luckily prepared. I never expected all of the feedback I received, but I appreciate the fact that my art was exposed to so many eyes.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice
I believe NFTs have been instrumental is helping a lot of the unseen artists both make life changing money and get a platform. As an artist, I loved seeing other artists shine. I would advise any artists unsure of this new wave to hop on before it’s too late.
