We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Aaron Reed a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
We’ve been able to earn a living from music by providing a diverse array of performances capable of fitting into everything from a festival to a corporate party. Our show is about the performance and audience engagement as much as it is about the music. Having a huge catalog, which includes six albums and countless covers allows us to tailor make a show to fit a myriad of circumstances.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We’ve both been playing music and performing from a very young age. This has always been my dream and something I’ve worked at diligently since my teen age years. Our live show and ability to engage with audiences across a huge spectrum of backgrounds and beliefs has helped us gain a foothold into numerous avenues of creative performance. We are most proud of our work ethic and our ability and willingness to step into lots of different situations and thrive.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a full time artist is the satisfaction I receive every time I stand in front of an audience and deliver. Knowing we have worked and carved out a living in a very difficult industry feels great.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Our goal is to keep doing this as long as we enjoy it and are doing it well.
