We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aaron Peoples. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aaron below.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My latest and most meaningful work so far has been the song Fine, Great. It has to be hands down the song that I believe everyone needs to hear. The message behind it is so simple, yet profound. Noone in every situation or category is perfect.
Aaron, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Aaron. I’ve been a singer since I was about 8 years old, and a guitarist for 19 years. Overall I’ve been a singer songwriter for about 18 years. I’ve played in a small handful of music projects such as The Magenta Incident, Fatal Memory, church projects, and the like. My most personally invested music project is my current project Hopefully Soon. I started Hopefully Soon in November of 2023 and it was a big jump for me. This has been the first project in which I put my own songwriting fully upfront to an audience.
I think the thing that really sets Hopefully Soon apart from most mainstream artists is that the songs themselves are so raw. They come directly from my own life experiences and experiences of my close friends and even family. They are all very near and dear to me. As I put each song out, I am always met with feelings of extreme vulnerability. Often times I have to wrestle with the thoughts behind whether my music will be accepted with open arms by any audience. These thoughts alone are a powerful proponent for why I wrote the song, Fine, Great.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a singer songwriter is by far a tie between the sheer humanity of interacting with fans, and the ability to exchange energy with the listeners. I love when my music really resonates with listeners. When that happens, it feels like the whole world became a brighter place in my eyes because my songs were written from the heart.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Music for me, has saved my life over and over again. If anything I write could ever save someone the way music saved me, then everything I’ve ever worked though is totally worth the experience. I think overall my goal musically is to make people’s lives better. Whether that means they can relate to my own written experiences, or even it help them get through times in their lives where they felt completely alone.
