We recently connected with Aaron Jordan Jr and have shared our conversation below.
Aaron , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
When I broke on the scene in 2014-2017 with my own radio show, called “Know Your Worth Radio Show” that was the start of an incredible journey in the space of entertainment and being a creative. My publicist at the time asked me if I ever thought about bringing on an Agent or seeking out an Agent for representation? I told my Publicist that I thought your job and an Agent were one in the same, she laughed and then schooled me at the same time lol.
So I started to send out letters to agency after agency, getting turned down left and right, over 20 no’s and rejections.
But, when my brand transitioned into TV and being in front of a camera with my own TV show called “Cafe Conversations with Mr. Know Your Worth”; that’s where things started to really change, the no’s turned to maybe and let me see what you can do first.
After 3 years of rejection, even with the platform I have; one Agency “AMAX Talent said yes after our first meeting in 2021. The rest has been a historical moment every since.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
“Aaron T. Jordan Jr., known to many as “Mr. Know Your Worth” is an American Award-Winning Author, Radio Personality, Speaker, Relationship Coach, and Philanthropist. He is the founder/host of the Know Your Worth Radio Show that sunset in April 2017. He is the author of the books entitled “The Power Within, A Woman’s Worth: From Both Sexes” which was published in July of 2014 and “The Dating Devotional: 30 Day Guide to Revamp your Thoughts on Dating” which is on schedule to be released Summer 2024. He is also the founder/CEO of Know Your Worth, an entity built to empower the minds of both men and women on various levels to help them understand who they are, whose they are, and what they are when it comes to relationships, dating, self-worth, and personal development. In stance of this mission, he is the executive producer, visionary, and mastermind of the inception of two annual regional conferences which he launched in 2015, the “Know Your Worth Women’s Relationship Conference” which is held in Nashville TN and “Know Your Worth Relationship Empowerment Summit” which is held in Atlanta Ga. Jordan, has been featured in a multitude of media outlets and various TV appearances ranging from CBS News, ABC News, News 5 Talk of the Town, Atlanta Live, and My TV 30 just to name a few. In 2015, he was rated as one of the TOP Online Relationship Coaches to follow by Divine Magazine; everything thus far that has taken place has led Mr. Jordan to be recognized for various prestigious awards; 2014 nomination for the Best in Black Award for Best Author of the Year, 2016 Indie Authors Legacy Awards Author of the Year (Personal Development) Winner, 2017 Nashville Black 40 under 40 Award-Winner, Nashville Business Journal c/o 2020 40 under 40 Nominee, Nashville Business Journal c/o 2022 40 under 40 Nominee, and Making Headline News 2020 Man of the Year Award recipient just to name a few.
“You never know the path or plan that your creator has set for you in your life; I never thought that myself a kid growing up in Memphis TN would later in life be considered one of the most influential men under 40.”, said Jordan. One of the major highlights in Jordan’s journey was the launching of the Know Your Worth Radio Show under the Know Your Worth umbrella May 2015. Starting out on a local AM Station; his vision was clear, “No matter who was listening empower your audience as if there were a million-people listening.”, said Jordan. In 2017, he inked a deal with a bigger station with a broader reach, The Cromwell Group 102.1 FM The Light Nashville; attracting and interviewing notable celebrities in the gospel industry such as Award-Winning Contemporary Gospel Artist/Legendary Yolanda Adams, Award Winning/Grammy Nominated Kierra Sheard, and Award Winning/Grammy Nominated Jekalyn Carr just to name a few. When Aaron is not traveling, the country empowering college students/men/women on dating and self-worth with his course “Game of Love”, speaking on various relationship panels/workshops, interviewing, TV appearances, and writing; Jordan is a believer, a husband, and a father, whom of which he states is the reason he pushes to go the extra mile in the pursuit to continue to inspire. He is also proud active member of the prestigious organization, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and The 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee.
In the 4th quarter of 2019, Mr. Jordan got his start in television with his very TV Show “Cafe Conversations with Mr. Know Your Worth” which premiered March 2020. Jordan says, “I think back on a vision that I had about 9 years ago when I was praying and asking God to help me see my purpose in life; he stated that I will impact the lives of millions of people through inspiration. But, I would have to go through somethings in order for that to manifest.” This reigns true as we fast forward to the present, Mr. Jordan’s TV Show has broadcast in the homes of over 1.5 million households across the Middle TN market on Xfinity Comcast and Dish Network cable platforms and will be rebroadcast Live across Roku streaming platform where over 50 million active monthly subscribers will have access during the rebroadcast launch.”

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The impact on people in this creative space in a positive way is major for me; more importantly to positive impact that this space will create for my daughter later on in life.
I understood early on, that we as individual control our destiny in life and what we put out into the world. Me being a creative I chose positivity and being impactful to millions.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to create a lasting legacy of inspiration and empowerment. Touching the lives of as many people as I can in an impactful way; but more importantly being that positive impact for my daughter.
