We were lucky to catch up with Aaron Duckworth recently and have shared our conversation below.
Aaron, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
After working in corporate Consumer Goods Companies I learned there was a whole world of technologies out there, and that most places don’t adopt new technologies as they would have to make changes to their internal processes to do so…..In my book, this was a great opportunity for me to jump in to the muddy waters and get my feet wet- literally.
I specialize in market-disruptive and unique formulation product development and manufacture. If I may use a painting example, the traditional approach is to paint with a small set of colors and textures on a closed palette. I paint with an infinitely large palette, utilizing any of the colors and textures in the palette, with realization that the palette is constantly growing.

Aaron, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am traditionally trained product development chemist. I was hired at The Procter and Gamble Company after graduate school. There I learned consumer research, laundry formulation, and regulatory/performance testing.
I have extended my experience to beauty, nutrition, cannabis/hemp, and beverage.
Now, I offer this experience to any brand that wants to develop and bring unique products to the consumer market.
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
I manufacture my own products. I like that I adapt my manufacturing processes as needed to make the best product. I have worked for large contract manufactures and typically, your product must conform to their process.
I wanted to change this and be able to offer modular manufacturing to accommodate the latest breakthroughs in plant-based science.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am the Indiana Jones of product manufacturing. I have experiences the most crazy things with trying to get product made and saving large batches from going down the drain. These range from all-night batch adjustments to having to simulate product changes in the lab during batching.
