Aaron, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?

Aww man, the use of AI and editing apps has made things so much easier. There was a time when you had to draw a reference or sift through hundreds of images to find what you were looking for. Now, you can just type in a prompt, and an image or video gets generated instantly. As these tools become more advanced, my fear is that we might lose the ability to distinguish fact from fiction. When a significant amount of your time is spent questioning the legitimacy of an image or video, we’ve got a real problem on our hands.

Hello, my name is Aaron Drumwright, and I’m a photographer and videographer. My work primarily focuses on portrait photography and my YouTube series, Loc’d In, where we showcase the performing arts. I credit my dad for introducing me to photography and videography. I would watch him take on various jobs, and I found it fascinating. That experience left a lasting impression on me, ultimately inspiring me to turn these skills into a career.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Word of mouth has been the best source of new clients. It’s one thing for someone to like your work and book with you, but when they also refer others? That’s the best feeling in the world.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Word of mouth and networking. Going out to different events with a plan and adjusting accordingly.
