We recently connected with Aaron Carter and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
Of course! I feel as though everyone wishes they started earlier than they did, but I am a big believer of everything happens for a reason. I didn’t take creative direction, designing and content creation seriously until after Covid. Obviously covid is still a thing, but I’m referring to after everyone hopped on the train of social media and their creative endeavors. I started creative direction during peak covid and it all stemmed from me just having a lack of passion for my current hobbies. I knew that I wanted to do something in the fashion industry, but I didn’t know where I saw myself since I wasn’t interested in design at first. During covid I launched 2 big projects all by myself with the help of some amazing creatives and that really gave me the push to pursue the career path even more. Designing didn’t come about until this year, but after all the feedback I’ve been receiving I want to push myself to create more designs. Content creation has always been an interest of mine, but I didn’t really take it serious until about a year ago. Ever since then, I’ve been blessed with numerous collabs and opportunities that has pushed me to become a better creative overall. I honestly don’t think I would do anything differently. I think that everything happens for a reason and whatever is meant for me at any given moment will happen. I believe God’s plan for me was to get a late start so I can organically grow to reach a level of success that most people don’t achieve.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Aaron Carter and I’m a creative director and content creator. I have always been creative as a child and have explored numerous hobbies including singing, dancing, and even acting. I was introduced to the modeling scene as well but not until about a year or so ago. I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career in fashion, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to branch out into. Once I got to college, I was able to express myself more through my clothing and people were beginning to notice me for that. Once covid hit, it kind’ve set me back but also allowed me to work in silence for a while until I was able to push some amazing content out that I later did. I launched 2 fashion projects within the span of 4 months and they both received great recognition. From there, I decided to take social media more seriously and have grown my platforms enough to be able to make a stream of income from content creation. The journey has been hard, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
In terms of services, I provide creative direction services for people who want to work with me. This includes multiple packages with different descriptions depending on what you would like me to execute. I have creatively directed projects, birthday photoshoots, and other small things on the side. I do not currently have a website and everyone inquires via DM for right now.
I think what sets me apart from others is my transparency and dedication. I like to be very open about what I do and how I receive certain things. If people DM me to ask me a question, I don’t gatekeep because I wouldn’t want people to do the same to me. I am strategic when I do give out information since I have to maintain my image as best as possible. I am overall most proud of me not giving up and continuing to push through all the obstacles. This isn’t an easy career, but I believe there’s enough money in the world for everyone to win.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding things has been all the people I have met along this journey. I have made some lifelong friends through this industry and I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s difficult to predict whether people will be as genuine and nice as they may seem online, because not everyone acts the same in real life. However, I have really made some lifelong connections that I will cherish forever. Without these people, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Even if I fell out with them, they have all impacted my career in a great way and I am forever grateful.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
It may seem pretty cliché, but consistency and being unique. Although I am nowhere near my social media goals in terms of growth, I have started some type of consistent growth. I have always been the type of person to do something different than everyone else and I believe that is why my platforms received the growth that they have. My projects, outfits, photo locations, etc. have all been different than most and I strongly believe those are all key factors to my growth in general.
