Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Aaron Boeltl. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Aaron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I honestly think i started at the perfect time. At the time i was just playing music for fun mainly, I learned alot whether it’d be songs, lessons, writing, but it just wasn’t enough. I was 22 at the time and working a full time job (still am), and i always wanted to play with other musicians. I tried here n there in highschool but never just seemed to work out, so I guess the stars aligned perfectly and I couldn’t be happier who i have as bandmates!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve definitely widened my music taste as ive gotten older. I grew up on classic rock, anything from The Beatles,Kiss, Rush and more i liked. I went music shopping with a couple buds from highschool and they introduced me to a huge chunk of what i listen to now. They’ve pretty much gotten me into any type of metal and alot of punk! My Band Fix the Glitch just kept getting booked for shows pretty much every month. We recorded our 5 track ep in 2019 and are releasing our debut album sometime this month! What sets us apart is i feel like we have so much variety in our sound. We try most genres atleast once and constantly are evolving our style and sound to new territories. Im most proud of how we’ve stayed together since our inception and friendship and band chemistry gets stronger after each year I’ve noticed.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Probably seeing the crowd into it and jamming along, always kicks the adrenaline on! I definitely feel accomplished when my bandmates like stuff I’ve written, riffs, lyrics, even completed songs
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Being driven to bring happiness to listeners and connecting with other musicans is huge for me. I can’t describe how cool it is to see a crowd of people rocking out to something i made! Im definitely looking to get Fix the Glitch on a festival show or maybe even open for a national band would be nuts! Playing at First Avenue and getting a Star is always a goal I’ve thought about here n there. It would be so surreal to see our name there!
