We were lucky to catch up with Aaron and Ben recently and have shared our conversation below.
Aaron and Ben, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
We started our youtube channel two years ago after chatting on instagram about our love for horror, collectibles, and physical media. Having never met, we decided to launch a YouTube channel after a few live chats. Aaron is in the States and Ben is in the UK. Rather than create a complicated name for our channel, we came up with using our initials and the rest is history. That is how A&B Horror Movies came about.

Aaron and Ben, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We have both loved horror films since we were young, and that passion for film and the genre has carried through to our adult lives, whether it’s through physical media, collectibles, or simply watching new horror films. Since we’ve started our channel, we have been amazed by the positive feedback from everyone who watches our videos and engages with us. We are also very thankful to have had incredible conversations with our guests, including other fans of horror, directors, actors, writers, artists, and composers. We have talked to some legends in the industry and appreciate the opportunity to discuss films we love and the genre in general. It has truly been a humbling experience.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our main goal and passion is to connect with other horror fans. We have cross-promoted A&B Horror Movies on YouTube and Instagram to reach an even larger audience. We’ve also hosted live events to support other film creators and to foster an outlet for fellow fans to communicate and come together. Our advice would be to consider other social media platforms to engage and grow your audience. What’s most important, however, is to enjoy the content you are creating and that enthusiasm will be evident in what you create and share.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is simply to discuss, share, and engage with other creators and horror fans. We have relied on being ourselves and honest in all our videos and have resorted to very little editing. We’ve been told by numerous viewers that are videos are like hanging out with two friends they’ve known forever. We would like to perpetuate that notion in all that we do.
