A.D., thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope to be remembered as a genuine person who was dependable. A person who has inspired others to be their genuine selves. I think people will say that I was a very creative person who wasn’t afraid to go after things I set my mind to. I hope to build a legacy of encouragement. We can be whomever we decide in this life, the only person who is stopping us from who we want to be is ourselves.

A.D., love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Since the age of 13 I was very intrigued with the process of Barbering. I drew a lot when I was younger. I remember drawing photos of cartoons as I watched them on Saturday mornings. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that fading, blending, and outlining hair was essentially the same as drawing, but with different tools. I believe the main things that sets me apart from others is my resilience. We can accomplish anything we set our minds to. My clients come from all walks of life, so it’s my job to accommodate their hairstyles for their personality and lifestyles. I want people to know that I am driven, down to earth, a person who aims to be the best version of himself in each category of life. I will give my best efforts no matter what brand, business, or project I create or participate in.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
There’s nothing more refreshing than meeting a genuine person, especially in the world we live in today. I meet a lot of people in my field of work and I travel quite often. The people who stand out to me the most are those who are genuine and sincere. It’s a feeling of comfort you receive from these people that makes such a lasting impression. This is my secret to building a respectable reputation. You cannot fake genuineness.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy for growing clientele has been consistency. My ability to consistently show up for my clients has rewarded me with their trust. Treating them with the upmost respect even in the moments when it’s most difficult. Furthermore, you must respect people’s time. We as a society are busier than ever. Mistakes can be forgiven, however wasting someone’s time or being inconsiderate of their time rubs people the wrong way. Holding myself accountable towards my clients and performing to my best ability has been my strategy.
