88 , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
My most meaningful project that I’ve worked on so far has been my latest EP “88 Special”
It was written and recorded during the pandemic and when I found out that I was expecting a child with my partner.
It was difficult trying to record and stay safe, as well as navigate the music industry when the whole world was shut down.
With the help of a strong network and support system, I was able to secure placement on major platforms and my overall career trajectory has risen.
88 , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
88 lived in Fort Worth since my dad retired from the Air Force back in the mid to late 90s. He then spent the early part of his rap career performing at venues/clubs throughout the city and eventually landed a record deal with an international record label. After fulfilling the label contract, he developed a streetwear apparel line that has been worn and endorsed by Fort Worth Influencers and Major Artists within the music industry. Most of his lyrics and song titles usually have a nod to something Fort Worth specific as “I am very proud to be from the city and I get excited when people tell me that they recognize certain landmarks from my songs whenever they visit .” -88
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
I wish I knew about entertainment lawyers and publicists before I spent so much time and energy landing bookings.

Being able to start over from square one after my first record deal contract expired. I feel like a lot of people would’ve given up but I used it as a tool to stay motivated
