We recently connected with 6 Points and have shared our conversation below.
6, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Risk taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Yeah, one of the biggest risks I’ve taken in my life was leaving my job and comfortable lifestyle to pack my bags and move all the way across the country to Los Angeles, California. I knew I had to do it in order to level up my music career. It’s crazy because, during my 1st month in LA, anything that could’ve gone wrong definitely did. The opportunity that I was promised that sparked my decision to move to LA in the first place went away as soon as I got there. So, I had to figure out instantly what was I going to do. The income that I thought I was going to make from that opportunity disappeared as well. I remember I was in my car about to burst out in tears thinking that I made the worst decision in my life. I called my mom and instead of her telling me “I told you so” or “I knew it wasn’t a good idea for you to leave everything and go to LA”. She took the most impactful route and that was telling me “Well… You drove 26 hours to get there and you’re out there now… Go figure it out. There’s no coming back home now so go make it happen on what you felt God lead you to do.” Shortly after I got off the phone with her I got a call from an Atlantic Records artist at the time inviting me to the studio. He ended up recording to 2 of my beats and everything took off from there! The connections I have, the experience I was able to gain, and the knowledge I have now all wouldn’t have happened if I never decided to take a leap of faith and make that move.
6, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Have you ever had to pivot?
Yeah, for sure! My biggest pivot in life was when I decided to stop pursuing my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL and transition to full-time Music Producer. Boy ol boy that was not an easy decision. I based my whole life on being able to play professional football. From starting as a young kid at the age of 5 playing flag football all the way to the age of 26. I had to decide to either keep pursuing what I always knew or transition to what I was most passionate about. I had to come to the realization that my playing days were behind me and I needed to make that transition to full-time music producer if I was ever going to achieve the ultimate goal for my life.
It wasn’t an easy decision, but I am happy I made that move. There have been a lot of ups and downs since that decision, but I’m grateful for how my journey is playing out.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I can definitely share a story about my resilience. It will piggyback off of the previous question of my biggest pivot in life. The real reason I knew I needed to pivot was because of the amount of music opportunities I had in front of me, but my music wasn’t ready yet. I was tired of all the disappointing letdowns of not getting my music chosen. As a music producer in the industry, you’re competing with all of the top music producers who are already winning. Guys like Metro Boomin, Southside, 808 Mafia, Tay Keith, Murda Beatz, MikeWillMadeIt, etc. If I was going to land a song opportunity with a major artist I needed my music to be at that high caliber. Unfortunately for me, it wasn’t at that time. I missed a lot of chances early on because I didn’t understand mixing, sound selection, song arrangement, and rhythms of what makes a hit a hit. So, I started taking classes at Westlake Studios in Los Angeles. I attended a music production and engineering school called Cre8 Music Academy. From there I learned about all the things I was lacking. Over time of practicing and increasing my skill set with the new knowledge I learned at Cre8 Music Academy, I eventually got my music to a level that could compete with the best in the business. After years of frustrating disappointment, I eventually got the opportunity to work with Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz. I finally succeeded as they chose a beat that I made and released it as a single!!! I was more than ecstatic that all my hard work, determination, and perseverance had finally paid off!!! I finally had a major placement!
