Hi 4DJ, thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first time I knew I wanted to really pursue, my artistic path professionally. One day I found this beat on YouTube. I went to my brothers home, whom had a home studio. I asked him if he’d make a song with me. I let him hear it, he then asked what I had in mind. When he first heard my verse he was hesitant. Due to it not being what he was use to. I leaked the song on social media unfinished. Pressure was created after I gained fans asking me to finish the song. That’s how i gained my artist name 4DJ
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m 4DJ, Tampa Artist, Singer Songwriter and Tax Manager. I began my music career January 2022. I’m a proud army veteran and father of two teens girl and boy. They got to see their dad wear many uniforms. Now as an artist, main focus is to show them that. There isn’t a time limit on dreams as long as your breathing. I’m currently writing hooks and music for industry producers. Been getting tons of new beats from upcoming producers. I have a few projects I’m working on. Hopefully my mixtape will be released by this Christmas.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of making music. Is receiving text from friends or messages on social media from new fans. Congratulating me on my work or letting me know how it made them feel.
Have you ever had to pivot?
The time I had to pivot my music career, when I lost my job and took on the journey as an over the road truck driver. I later watched a TikTok video of users recording with IPhone wired headphones on BandLab. I then became a fan of BandLab I recorded one song in Colorado with BandLab “Dancer” released on all Social media platforms.
