We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful 30bomb. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with 30bomb below.
Hi 30bomb, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I have been making beats since the 8th grade. Throughout my early years of high school, I viewed it as a hobby and nothing too serious. I started to realize this is who I always wanted to be towards the end of my junior year. As the quality of beats improved, my desire to be a music producer forever grew. I started selling beats online and found a new level of passion when I found that people are willing to pay money for my creations.

30bomb, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is 30bomb. I am a 21 year old producer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I signed a deal with Andishae of Unified 2 summers ago. I got there by utilizing social media and putting myself out there. I connected with Andishae through tagging him in my beats and pretty much shooting my shot in his DM’s. I am now part of the production management group Silent Sounds. I am surrounded by the world’s best producers and aspire to find the success they have all found. Those guys motivate me to be better. My guy Mute believes in me like no one ever has. The best part of my producing journey is managing to find my own sound. I make any type of beat that is asked of me, but the 30bomb type beat definitely exists. I would describe it as heavy synths combined with a dark Toronto sound on the drums. I’ve heavily influenced by Mike Dean and Wondagurl, and I feel like the combination of those 2 being an influence can be seen in my music.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goal is to produce songs for artists that I admire. In my early stages as a producer, I would listen to my favorite artists and think “Man I wish I was the one that produced that song”. I honestly have a list of artists that are the endgame for me. Being financially free doing what you love is everybody’s dream, and that’s also one of my major goals. I used to be money hungry, to a point where it was my main objective. Money makes the world go round, but it’s not all I care about anymore.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
I used to be super anti collaborating with other producers. I found pride in making a beat entirely produced by me. I now know that working and growing with other like minded people is crucial in all of this. Pride is no different than insecurity, so maybe I feared that I wasn’t as good as the other producers that I could work with. I let that pride go and have a handful of producers that I have bonded with and created masterpieces with them. Shoutout Audio Club
