Alright, 0nekay thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

At the age of 17 I wanted to pursue and take my career as a recording artist serious. Prior of that age in my younger teens I would always write music and post little rap and singing videos from time to time on the internet but as a hobby. In my grade 12 year in school my friend at the time was taking music serious but knew I did music. He was going to a studio session one day after school as we were talking about what we’re gonna do after high school prior. That same day he asked to come to the studio I said no as that’s not something I did serious but he knew I could sing & rap. Fast forward after school we go to the library for some school stuff and he asked me again I said no , then he said I know you have some music written down in your phone come to the side of the library and rap or sing one, and then proceeded to do so.

He thought the song was good and still wanted me to come so we end up going to the mall later that day were he was getting ready to get on the train to head to the studio he asked me again to go to the studio I ended up proceeding to go with him. We get there and I record my first song not knowing what a adlib or doubles were and learned along that session. That same song recorded was previewed the next day and amazingly a lot of people loved it and wanted it to drop so I dropped it on the first platforms I knew which was SoundCloud at the time a week later. A week into the song the number start pick up past 10k and kept rising & from there the next day or so I decided to take music serious and learning a lot along the way within the industry

Valencio, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

0nekay is a young upcoming artist from Toronto gaining a buzz for his melodic records that are infused with some of his life experiences growing up. Born November 10th, 2002 & Raised in Malvern, Ontario., 0nekay began working on his craft & took the music game serious in his late teenage years at 17. The artist dropped his first debut single of 2023 “Rainfall” following “Let me Know” & “Still clear “ receiving a lot of attraction and still being discovered. 0nekay is proud to have face many trials & tribulations from young & overcoming many like it was nothing.With more music and projects on the way, 0nekay is looking forward to showcasing more of his style for 2024 and more years to come

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewards is seeing the seed you planted and the fruits of your labour from what you put in. But most importantly seeing your own growth as a artist from when you started till your current moment and seeing more people become of fan of your music and being able to relate to my music but most importantly seeing your own growth as a artist from when you started till your current moment and seeing many individuals become a fan of your music and being able to vibe and relate to my music in their own way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

Taking a year away from music and coming back better then before with more consistency within the music aspect.
