I love this question- I feel like each opportunity I have to work with anyone, feels extremely meaningful. Life is so fleeting and the concept of getting to share even short amounts of time with so many different individuals feels very serendipitous. To make and share space with someone else, hearing what life has shown them, hearing their perspectives, what they are feeling, how they are taking it all in, what they want from it, what they are excited for, scared of, all of it.. It’s never not fascinating and it’s extremely important to me to just listen, learn, and sit gently and compassionately in someone’s life as a friend and documentarian. Read more>>

When I became a mom, finding the balance between my work and home life, and a creative practice was very challenging. I eventually found a way to produce art consistently again and those life events left an imprint on the work that followed. My current project, “The Days are Long” is a series of photographs that center around my daughter, mother, grandmother, and myself. The images in this project examine themes of motherhood, identity, and more specifically, the complex relationship between mother and daughter over generations in my family. Read more>>

There are so many projects I’ve gotten to work on throughout my career, both as a performer and choreographer that are meaningful to me, but the one that stands out the most has to be the most recent project I worked on. From November 2021-May 2022 I was hired to work as an Associate Choreographer on a brand new show creation for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. An Aqua show called “inTENse” on board their newest ship in the fleet, Wonder of the Seas. Read more>>

First our newest song speaks on the drug problems existing in this world past and present… All based on a true story this new single touches on a what life is for the people doing the dope as well as those who sell it. The most meaningful project I’ve worked on was a virtual performance video I filmed and edited for American Idol alum Syesha Mercado. Syesha is a singer-songwriter, actress, and model who had her child taken away in 2021 by CPS. Syesha’s son “Amen’Ra” was taken away after allegations of malnutrition after the singer had started to wean him off breast milk. After Mercado’s milk had started to dry up during her second pregnancy and their son had struggled to adjust to solid food, they took the toddler to the hospital in February to help him get the nutrients he needed. The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is my album “Golden Child”. The name “Golden Child” comes from me being a hustler, a hard worker, and from people always telling me I have a bright future ahead of me. Therefore, I began to realize I’m the Golden Child in my family! Golden Child is so meaningful to me because not only is it inspiring, it highlights some of the low times in life, how far I’ve come and most of all it lets the world know if I can do it you can too! One of the most meaningful projects I had the opportunity to be part of was an art exhibition organized by GoneMIA. They are a grassroots organization that strives to bring environmental awareness and positive change to Miami through the power of art. This project was near and dear to my heart because the environment is something I care a lot about and the organization is also based in my hometown of Hialeah. Read more>>

Back in 2020, I was writing a bunch, thanks to having so much time at home. I remember coming up with this melody while I was thinking about my relationship with my fiance. We’ve been together for 9 years, and our lives have changed so much. Even with the many challenges, it never fails to feel like we are walking on some sort of destined path together. I asked myself, “is it luck, or just me? Just us? What makes us so special?” Read more>>

Certainly this new album “¿Quien C****s es Ferrer? Vol I” which means “Who the F*** is Ferrer?”, answers this question on the title by playing its music. This album represents my sound as an Artist, writer and Producer on the Latin Market, it translate exactly what Ferrer’s essence is as a project, and who is Jonathan ( my real name ) as a person and musician. In general I have to believe in the project for me to be emotionally and intellectually invested in it. There has a been a couple that feel more personal to me, for example working with the Crobot guys is always a great experience, we are close friends and work great together. When we did the Ratchild EP together, we had guest features by Howard Jones (Light the Torch / Killswitch Engage) and Frank Bello (Anthrax). Read more>>

The most meaningful Project I’ve ever worked on is the creation of my Radio Station, EAGLEradio.PRO on LIVE365 Network. It was originally created as a fundraising tool for RED HISPANA FL, an HIV Agency when funding was cut. I created this to move our medical seminars to radio in the form of Talk Shows and combined those with my DJ skills. Today, 10 yrs later, we have over 2,200 monthly listeners and I have attracted 7 other DJs to supply their mix shows to create a 24/7 FREE radio station that can be heard anywhere there is wifi (computer devices & smart phones). We have amassed over 145,000 listens. We have featured talk shows for Holy Cross Hospital, State of Florida Health Dept, AIDS United, Southern HIV Funding to name a few. Read more>>

The most meaningful projects I have worked on has to be KIE’s Specialty Tea (2019), the only reiki powered tea brand in the world that was created to combat chemotherapy side effects. I also own the only sea moss iced tea featured on Walmart.com! The Beautiful Mind Bill (2021) which is a proposal I created to make stress management and wellness programs mandatory for law-enforcement and military officials. I have been working with the future mayor of Houston, Chris Hollins, to try to make this a part of Harris County protocol. Read more>>

One of my most meaningful projects is something I’m currently working on which is a book called Positive Psychology for Music Professionals- Character Strengths. This was borne of a wonderful relationship and collaboration with psychologist Dr. Nancy Kirsner and was the result of my own artistic soul searching. As a college professor and musician, I have often coached my students (and myself!) in elements of their own worth and uniqueness. Discovering that there was a whole field with very specific science and language to support that which I was just intuitively ‘doing’ was a game changer for me! Read more>>

I would say the most important and personal project I’ve ever done was The Tale of Riley Escobar Trilogy. When we did the first part, it was originally conceived as a test run for a film stock I haven’t shot before. Me and my friend Antione Robinson (Riley Escobar) simply went around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor taking pictures and playing off his rapper/producer persona. When I eventually saw the pictures and reflected on the experience, I realized that we were able to piece a special story about Escobar and the city he calls home, and over time I was able to expand the project in ways that felt multi-faceted but ultimately cohesive. I have to say that all my projects are very meaningful to me. They all represent a thought, experience or a moment in time that I felt deserved being captured and shared with the world. They’re pieces of myself and I hold them very dearly. If I had to pick one it would probably be my most recent project “Knocked Me Out”. It’s dedicated to my grandfather Major Gene Willie Strahan’s passing in the summer of 2020. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have ever worked on is “Autism And Music” AKA “my mission in life”. My youngest brother Chris, who has autism, and I have always had a special connection. Since he was little, I always tried looking for ways to connect with him but there were really few things he was interested in. One day our cousin was playing the guitar and I realized he loved music so I decided to get myself a guitar to start playing for him. I had never played a music instrument or sang, but I was so intrigued and happy about this discovery that it kept me going. Read more>>

The most meaningful project that I’ve ever worked on is “Duality” My new studio album thats drop July 31st! It’s the most expressive and freeing music that I’ve ever created because It came from such a dark time and place. This project reminded me of who I am, what I want to be and to always listen myself. Honestly this year so far has been such a trying time. The pillars of my confidence were shaken to the core. I lost friends, my transportation, my means of making music, i even lost my hair at one point. From health issues to personal lost this was definitely my struggle season. Read more>>

My music isn’t just music. It’s actual events in real life, whether it’s me or someone else. It’s original and relatable. Soulful music, love music, and more. Volume 2 is definitely most meaningful to me currently because its all so real. Its all original and it took a lot of perfecting and hard work to drop it so fast after my Volume 1 Album. Read more>>

My most meaningful project is my unreleased album dropping in September titled “Slow Food”. The circumstances in which it was created are related to my most recent work in proving nutrition, health, and wellness resources to the community. Starting a non-profit and building a program/network to incorporate these concepts into the lives of people in the community. The album “Slow Food” portrays the need for rebalance, love, patience, and to be present in our society as it relates to mental and physical health and wellbeing. Read more>>

Nature and my Hispanic heritage are the most meaningful projects for me. I am inspired with every painting to tell their stories. I try to capture those experiences in all of my work. We are overwhelmed by so much negativity. I believe nature gives us hope of renewal. Sharing that experience on canvas of beauty or being in the moment is meaningful to me. Read more>>

Every project I’ve worked on is meaningful and I am grateful for every opportunity, but one that is very special is being a co-star on the last season of my favorite show, Better Call Saul. I was invited to do a virtual audition back in April of 2021 and they called me three more times afterwards to do live auditions and self tapes. I wish I could accurately explain the excitement I felt – it was amazing! Read more>>
