In the Spring of 2015 on the highest of seven hills in Tallahassee, FL, Florida A&M University was preparing for the Artist in Bloom Festival. This festival showcased a series of artistic events that celebrated the arts through various visual and performing arts. I was fortunate enough to be the chosen choreographer for one of those events, Emancipation Blues. Emancipation Blues was a spirit-provoking narrative of the state of black people in America underscored by the world-renowned FAMU Jazz Ensemble. Read more>>

I’ll say, the most meaningful project that I worked on would have to be my debut Ep. Title “She Knows”. Which is set to hit all streaming platforms this April-May time line. The backstory to the project is one many people can relate to. “She Knows”, come from a place of remembrance and also serves as a reminder to ones ex’s or situational partner. That, no matter who you decides to move on to, you will never forget the bond we shared. The reason why, “She Knows” is meaningful to me is simply because of the truth expressed in each song. For the past fifteen years or so, I’ve had the pleasure and privilege to pursue what has become to me, the most meaningful project of my life. Slowly, amidst life’s ever changing landscape, I’ve continued to build a library of paintings that are collectively known as the ‘Tales of a Ragged Doll.” These artworks tell the stories of those who have been willing to share with me their struggles, wounds, addictions, and heartaches — beautiful people who have opened themselves to me and allowed me the honor of depicting their stories through paint. The most meaningful project I am working on is a project I am actually working on now. I am in the process of creating a nonprofit organization and hope to be functioning within a year to two years from now. This non-profit is in honor of my son who passed away in 2018. I wanted to create a way to honor his name and create something that would live on forever and benefit the community around us. Read more>>

It’s hard to narrow it done to one single project. The way that I structure my business and choose the projects to take on always have a deeper meaning at the forefront than just cool looking shoes. I’ll talk about two collaborators (not customers) that I worked with. I had a woman reach out to me explaining that she chose to work with a larger company on a pair of shoes for her wedding day and they told her at the last minute that they couldn’t finish the shoes in time. The most meaningful part of an artist, even a wrestling promoter, is understanding that all art is political and social. Creating a show with LGBTQ+ stars front and center is a reminder that everyone has a hero in the ring that they can look up to. When the women’s belt is held by a woman who is trans, it sends a very strong social and political message of empowerment; just like when women’s matches are presented in equal number and of equal importance on the card. It is a joy to give people who may never have watched wrestling someone to cheer for. Read more>>

The use of AI (Artificial intelligence) in every day life has become more popular and useful. Our company in Lola Glorianna has grown to use artificial intelligence in our designs, locations, and even the runway. We don’t mean your average every day Technology, and is far more interesting. While starting our company during COVID-19 made it very difficult to find models for our brand we decided to take a safer route by using robot figures as models. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I’ve ever worked on was the “SKYDIVE” album by Domani. This project is very near and dear to me. It was 2020 Domani was working on his next project “SKYDIVE”. Prior to SKYDIVE I had never cleared an entire album. When I say clearing and album I mean that all producer agreements, side artist agreements and work for hires are fully executed, split sheets are correct, lyrics are transcribed, songs are properly registered on PRO’s, song are mixed and mastered and all assets have been delivered to DSP’s. My project The MILF Collection is an ongoing multimedia piece to shed light on Asian housewives’ suppressed desires. The MILF Film (2021) is the first project of the collection. It is a 6-minute-long 3D animation about a story of an uncanny housewife force-feeding her husband Asian-characterized food. In the film, The MILF has a perfect S-shaped body to emphasize the existing sexualized labels on women and a sadistic personality as the outlet to express her rage against patriarchal control. I have a project that is very near and dear to my heart called: Tatum’s Tales. It features the stories of children whom have rare genetic diseases, syndromes or other special kids on my blog. Each family receives a complimentary photo session of their child and their family if they choose. The family shares their story to go along with the photos. This project has been on hold due to COVID but I’m hoping to relaunch in 2023. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I have worked on to this day, has to be my first project The Lyric that allowed me to showcase my talents to the world. It allowed me to be free with my creativity as an artist, but also raise awareness to the senseless killings that are going on in our Trans gender community. I played Dray who was torn between accepting who is, versus fighting against who society wants him to be. An internal battle ensues and he finds himself in a weird situation. Read more>>

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on so far would have to be the recent release from my project Troll Foot Frass called ‘Meaties’. Totally self produced spending over 4 years trying to figure out what I’m doing and working over countless rough drafts to get my best pieces of music I’ve ever released to date. In contrast to everything made years prior with limited knowledge of the recording/production process or access to a professional studio. I was determined to create and release an album I could be proud of. Read more>>

The Walk of Arts/Twistid Arts Initiative is probably the most meaningful project I’ve worked on in recent years. We live in a small, rural community in Central Florida. Our area doesn’t have much access to professional visual or performing arts, and it’s very difficult for young artists or performers to really get a good start in the arts industry as the arts departments in the schools are underfunded and overlooked. I have so many of them, but my top favorite would be creating a kids version of WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair ring gear from Wrestlemania 34. I was referred to another client, and first was shocked that another person wanted me to sew an outfit for their daughter. So at first I was asking myself ‘can I really make Charlotte’s gear (which wrestling gear is very revealing) into a kid version’. After several rough draft sketches and researching kid sewing patterns, I reached back to the client, showed her the idea I was thinking about and the outfit was green-lit. Read more>>

One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on lately is my new album ‘CANTAR’, which means “to sing” in Spanish. This album is my ninth album as a leader but it’s the first to be fully focused on songwriting. I decided to reveal a side of myself that was not out there yet. So I gather some of the songs that I’ve been writing through the years, and invited the great singer from Brazil ‘Luciana Souza’ to sing on all of the songs. In the album you can hear songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Read more>>

For the past three years, my son has been playing club soccer for Old Line Soccer Academy/Sporting Baltimore. We have had the great privilege to meet Josh Diaz and his family. Two years ago, Josh was diagnosed with pediatric osteosarcoma which is an aggressive bone cancer. After battling through multiple surgeries and many rounds of chemo, his cancer had spread and amputation was the only option. Read more>>

You home and the spaces around you impact your mood and perspective. Our mission is to create spaces that inspire joy. We absolutely love helping our clients create functional spaces that are welcoming and a place they want to be. Our most meaningful projects are the giveaways we do during Mental Health Awareness month. We have done 3 of these projects to date – 1) a large family with biological and adopted children where three of the children had to share a very small room. Read more>>

My installation “Borders of Light and Water” (on view as part of the 59th Biennale di Venezia in 2022) looked out on the Grand Canal from the windows of Palazzo Bembo. This artwork evoked the Venetian word “gibigiana”, a term that names the flickering of light as it reflects off the water onto the bottom of a bridge. As I reference this extraordinary perceptual experience that is only found in Venice, I simultaneously draw attention to the global crisis of climate change, whose impact in Venice is manifest in dangerously rising water levels. I am working towards completing my cycle plays that focus on Black Women throughout 7 decades in this country. For me, the Black Woman’s voice has been missing. We needed more narratives about life for Black Women in the past decades; how she dreamed, loved, hobbies, racism, and most importantly for me, how she found joy. My work is always based in truth and comedy. It is important for me to watch a play about a Black Woman from our past and regardless of what was happening on the outside, I want to show her finding peace and happiness. Read more>>

The most meaningful project has been my 40 Sassy Women Over 40+. Working with real everyday women who don’t have any modeling experience is so much fun! We have an entire Girl’s Day. There’s 2 that come to mind actually. The first is my Masterminds album I did with DEF davyne. This album we not only stepped out of our comfort zone and showed our versatility, but we worked with some dope artists. On that project we had some hot and talented people out of the Pacific Northwest such as Pynt and Sol.Luna featured on there. We also got a feature from Jadakiss’ artist Millyz, who is incredibly hot at the moment. Masterminds is a masterpiece. Read more>>

Probably my nonprofit, PINAYSPHERE. PINAYSPHERE (pin-eye) is a nonprofit for Filipina youth creatives in the US where we offer resources and art programming with a decolonial framework. We prioritize ancestral knowledge and understanding our culture in our programs. I love the connections I’ve made through it, I love all of the Pinay youth that surround me in my community now because of it, and most of all, I love that my daughters are exposed to this work. It’s monumental. Read more>>

Turquoise Community. You might notice me signing ‘turquoise’. This is an LSF, French sign for turquoise, a specific color integral to community. You might notice this artwork isn’t finished. My most meaningful project that I’ve worked on is an EP that I released titled “Floating On Earth”. This collection of tracks is very special to me and marks a unique moment in my evolution. When writing these songs, my intention was to process the difficult things that I was dealing with in my life as well as manifest the new life I was wanting to call in. I speak about the beauty and the pain that love has brought me as well as the intricacies of my journey back to self love. This EP means a lot to me because through creating it, I brought healing into my life. Read more>>

I’ve worked on so many projects over the years that this is a tough question to answer. I will say that my Best Of series of mixes that I’ve done has been the most popular. I did a limited series of Best Of artists like Ludacris, Chris Brown, Jadakiss, Usher and Vybz Kartel. Those mixes are still popular to this day. To me, my most meaningful project is always the next project. Read more>>

My poems that transitioned into songs were written to provoke thought, promote discussion and hopefully help with healing from emotional scars, generational trauma through meaningful lyrics and the sharing of experience. The sharing indicates that there are similar struggles we face, hopes we have, and outcomes, goals and purposes we would like to see come to fruition. “Real Men” is a collection of thoughts and goals to become a better man, husband and father– having been abandoned by my father. My latest project is called “Forage,” which is about food resources and other plants found in the desert. A lot of my work lately has been focused on the ecology of the desert. This particular project focuses on the datura, the mesquite tree, and the prickly pear cactus. The mesquite tree produces mesquite beans which are full of nutrients and were once a vital source of food for indigenous peoples of Mexico and the Southwest. The seeds were crushed to a powder and used to make flour or meal in order to make bread and other items. Read more>>
