Today we’d like to introduce you to Torrey Purvey.

Hi Torrey , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

My creative journey started in middle school with being in the band. From there to the band in college and a band director. I guess you could say that I’ve been a creative for a while. Then ventured into photos and video.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

It hasn’t been too bad. The main challenges is how to remain relevant in a saturated market of other creatives.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I specialize in photography. I’ve mastered that after years of trial and error, however, recently Ive been known for video work. I think I’m most proud of the work that’s considered off the beaten path for Oklahoma video. I’ve done work with Langston University, Baylor University, Kansas City Fashion Week, and Austin Fashion Week. Having clients the contribute by having reoccring or extended contracts it helpful.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?

I used to watch Youtube creators like Peter McKinnon, Matti Haapoja, and Casy Neistat. Their videos inspired lots of photos and video exploration in me.
