Today we’d like to introduce you to Taidyn Kiggins
Hi Taidyn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Im a 19 year old , neurodivergent singer/songwriter and novelist. I’ve been writing songs since I was 14 and am completely self taught in that regard. When I was 11 my family had to abruptly move to southern California because my career as a talk show host and actress took off. At that time I was doing commercials for Mattel and brands of the like, and hosting a red carpet talk show called “Talk with Taydyn.” During The pandemic everything came to a halt, and I lost the career that me and my family had spent countless hours and dollars building. In the midst, I experienced a lot of trauma, including losing my best friend of 13 years, almost losing my mom, and I slowly lost my entire identity too. In summer of 2021, I started writing songs to process everything since I had no one else left to turn too. That fall I fell in love for the first time and that helped to piece me back together, but a year later, I lost that too. Now, here I am, a completely new person in a lot of ways, and the same in a lot of ways too. Single, a far more developed singer/songwriter with a completely new set of close friends, and I’ve just recently deferred my scholarship studying commercial music at Southern Utah University to pursue a music career while working a full time job at Best Buy.
Im a major Jesus Freak- as Christians were called during the revolution in the 70s, and my biggest dream is to tour the world, and make a living off the songs I write, being the first mainstream Christian artist making non-Christian music (most of the time).
I have over 600 songs written so far, and will never stop writing, and I’m nearly reto release my debut single, which I’ve spent over a year perfecting the production of.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve been through a lot in my life, but especially in the past 4 years. I lost my best friend’s friendship, I lost the boy I once thought I would marry, I nearly lost my mother, and worst of all, I lost myself, my identity, and some of my confidence. I’m incredibly grateful for my trauma and all the development and perspective it has given me, and for all the beautiful songs that have come of it, but I’m insanely excited to keep healing, growing, and overcoming, and to start a new chapter full of happiness, friendship, Jesus, and lots and lots of music.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer/songwriter and novelist based in Missoula, MT. I specialize in songwriting and singing, but I also know how to play acoustic guitar and I’m learning how to produce music in Logic Pro X. I am most proud of my growth in my songwriting, and for the confidence I’ve gained in my musical abilities and in my identity as a musician.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Follow me on socials, and presave my debut single once I announce it! And if any guitarists, bassists, and drummers from Missoula are reading, LET’S MAKE A BAND!
