Hi Roman , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

Our story began in 2017 when we set off on our own van life adventure by transforming a Sprinter van into our home on wheels.

For the next two years, we traveled across the country, immersing ourselves in the beauty of its landscapes and communities, and falling deeply in love with the van life lifestyle. Along the way, we noticed a significant demand for high-quality van conversion services, particularly on the East Coast.

In 2020, drawing on my expertise as a Master Van Builder—gained through years of working with top companies in Colorado—and Laura’s creative vision, we decided to turn our passion into a business. That’s when we launched Vanture Customs, with a mission to provide premium yet affordable van conversions to the North East. Our goal is to help others embrace the adventure, freedom, and joy that van life has brought to us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The road to building Vanture Customs has been incredibly rewarding, but it hasn’t always been smooth. Like any small business, we’ve faced our share of challenges along the way.

One of the biggest hurdles came early on when we launched in 2020, right in the midst of the pandemic. Supply chain disruptions made sourcing materials and parts for conversions unpredictable and more expensive, forcing us to adapt quickly and creatively to meet deadlines and maintain the quality we’re known for.

Another challenge has been balancing the rapid growth of demand with maintaining our high standards. As more people discover the joy of van life, we’ve had to scale our team and processes while ensuring that each build meets the premium craftsmanship and attention to detail our clients expect.

Additionally, educating clients about the time, costs, and complexities involved in creating a custom conversion has been an ongoing effort. Many people are unfamiliar with what goes into these projects, so we’ve worked hard to set clear expectations and build trust through transparency.

Despite the challenges, every obstacle has taught us something valuable, and we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. Seeing our clients’ excitement when they drive off in their dream van makes every challenge along the way worth it.

We’re always looking toward the future with excitement and a drive to grow. One of our primary goals is to continue refining our processes and expanding our offerings to provide even more customization options for our clients. We want to ensure every build reflects their unique needs, whether they’re adventurers, remote workers, or weekend explorers.

We’re also planning to invest in new tools and technologies to enhance our craftsmanship and efficiency. By staying at the forefront of innovation in the van conversion industry, we can continue delivering premium-quality builds while keeping them affordable.

A big change we’re considering is expanding our shop and team. As demand grows, we want to ensure we have the capacity to take on more projects without compromising on the personalized service and attention to detail we’re known for.

Looking ahead, we’re also exploring ways to incorporate more sustainable practices into our builds. From eco-friendly materials to energy-efficient systems, we aim to offer options that align with our clients’ values and the growing importance of sustainability in van life.
