Today we’d like to introduce you to Rocco Bova
Hi Rocco, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Italy 53 years ago but meant to travel the world.
I am a passionate hotelier, worked in 11 countries and developed a true passion for the hospitality industry.
I got my first job at the age of 13 and was fired after two day. But this was the springboard to learn more, be better and become who I am today.
I have worked for some of the best hotel companies in the world including Aman Resorts, Hilton, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and other independent luxury properties, always aiming to be the best.
I love training, coaching and helping people become the best version of themselves.
I have a wonderful family that supported me for almost 30 years.
I am a very happy man and now on a quest to disrupt the hospitality industry with a new business model, a Hotel project called My Humble House.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would not say struggle, each challenge has been an opportunity to become a better person, to learn and grow.
But most of all, to realise one’s limitations and understand that it’s time to step back and reassess.
In each case I realised that learning was the best way to move forward. This was achived through personal and professional development, training courses or coaching.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have worked in the hospitality industry for almost 30 years and still in love with my job.
After 25 years of operation and administration of hotels, I decided to move to consultancy and I have been able to successfully close over 100 clients in the past two and half years.
I am proud to say that, through my hard work, sacrifices and with the support of my family, I have been able to live my dream.
Now, after all these years of learning and accumulating knowledge, connections and experiences, I can share it with private investors who wishes to enter this wonderful industry and I help them to develop their hotel project.
My specialty are small, boutique hotels and as a consultant, I set to work with my client fast and efficiently, providing all the necessary resources in the shortest time possible.
Since the beginning of going as self employed I worked on more than 100 projects
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
The day an old man, my neighbor, told me that when I grew up he would take me to Texas to see the cowboys.
Most probably that was the spark that pushed to travel the world.
