Today we’d like to introduce you to Nelida Munnerlyn

Hi Nelida, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

I started out being a Makeup Artist back in 2014, I fell in love with Esthetics in 2015. When I was a makeup artist, I saw how my clients would be so happy with their results, some would even cry because for a moment I helped to fix whatever imperfections that person may had and they felt beautiful. I get the same feeling when it comes to skin care and doing facial treatments, I’m helping with those imperfections. Being a Esthetician was he best decision I’ve made in my life, the joy I get just from meeting new people, working with different skincare brands and having the opportunity to help someone else achieve their skincare goals is so rewarding and it really does warms my heart.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

This road to building a business, all by yourself and trying to figure it out alone is extremely hard. There were multiple times that I would cry and ask myself “Am I doing the right thing?” “Can I do this and be successful?” and time after time I see the outcome of working hard and always having faith in yourself. I always have moments where I would sit and I talk to myself and ask “Are you in a good space? Do you feel like this is serving you and feeding your soul?” and my answer always come back “Yes”. I always get confirmation that I’m doing the right thing and that is what push me to keep going and never give up on myself. I remember working a 9-5 and how unhappy I was there, I was unhappy because I wasn’t doing what I was called to do, I wasn’t focused on a career that serves me and feeds my soul. I always tell people no matter what you decide to do in life, make sure you are happy no matter what because at the end of the day, this is your life and only you know what’s best for you. There were times where I had to penny pitch, not afford to go out with my friends or treat myself to something nice because the business came first. I recently took myself on my first vacation in 3 years and it felt so good to treat myself for once, for 3 years I’ve made decisions based on what was best for my business and I put myself second which was very hard for me to do but I knew it would all work out in the long run and I see how successful my business can be.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I am a License Esthetician that specialize in all things Skin Care. My business provides Facial Treatments for Women, Men and Teens, each facial treatment is customized for the client and their skin needs. Each facial treatment is different but will give great results bringing new skin cells and new glowing skin from extractions, microdermabrasion, derma planing and chemical peels for clients that have hyperpigmentation, acne and other skin concerns. I also provide waxing services such a Body Waxing, Vajacials, Facial Waxing, Brow Shaping, Brow Tinting, Lash Lifting and Lash Tinting. I also added a brand new service to my menu Ombré Powder Brows which is a Permanent Tattoo for the Eyebrows that will last for up to 1 – 3 years depending on how well the client takes care of their skin and brows. I wanted to make sure that I provided a place where it can be a one stop shop for all my clients, my idea when I first decided to open a business I want everyone to not feel welcomed and happy with their service but Renee Esthetics provided them with a great experience and would always leave happy and satisfied. I’m known for my customer service skills, I always make sure all my clients feel comfortable no matter if you’re a first time client or you’ve been to me since the beginning, I like to build relationships with my clients and that helps everyone to have a more relaxing experience. I’m most proud of seeing how far I’ve come since opening up in 2022, I started off with barely no clients, I would post everyday just to gain clients, hand out business cards and give discounts to all the new clients that would support my business. The beginning was so hard especially because I was doing it alone, I came in with no clients I had to build my clientele from the ground up and I’m still growing. It will always be a working progress to have a steady clientele base and I have managed to get people to continue to book with me and recommend new clients to me. Building my clientele will always something that I am proud of and seeing me evolve as an Esthetician, it was never easy and it’s still a lot of hard work but the outcome is so rewarding. My personality, my spirit, my professionalism and skills put me in a position where I get to do what I love and meet some amazing people along the way, I am helping people with their skin care needs, helping people to fix their imperfections and showing them it is possible to achieve the skin goals you desire but you have to trust the process. I wake up everyday knowing that I am helping others in such a beautiful way, that will always be confirmation that I’m doing the right thing.

Pricing:

• Renee’s Signature Glow Facial – $95 – The Renee’s Signature Glow Facial will give all the essentials; deep cleanse, skin analysis, tone, argan oil serum with a facial massage, mask, hydration, SPF and lip balm. This facial treatment is great for first time customers, regular visits or a quick glow.
• Renee’s Wellness Luxury Treatment – $150 – This service is a combination of many facials in one. Imagine mixing RSG Facial, Microdermabrasion, Extractions, Dermaplaning and a Facial Lymphatic Massage all in one it will create the Renee’s Wellness Luxury Treatment. This is a service for deep cleansing, great for all skin types and will leave your skin more hydrated with a beautiful glow.
• Renee’s Beard Growth Treatment – $140 – The essential men’s facial designed specifically for shaving irritation, larger pores, and increased exposure to the elements. This facial treatment includes a deep cleansing, steam with exfoliation, extractions, dermaplaning, facial massage with serum, vitamin C mask to brighten complexion, hydration, and SPF.
• Brazilian Wax & Vajacial – $130 – Brazilian Wax – Women’s – As much or as little as you want off the front. Includes the bikini line and butt strip. Vajacial – Deep cleanse, tone, steam with exfoliating and extraction, customized mask application leaving the skin toned and fresh and moisturizer. • High Frequency Wand is used during this treatment for deep-rooted ingrown hairs, sanitize the area, enhance blood circulation, and allow products to penetrate deeper into the skin.
• Ombré Powder Brows – $250 – This service will last 1 – 3 years.. Soft, powder filled brow similar to the look of makeup meaning the brow are darker and fade into a light start to the brow, giving the brows the perfect ombré look! Ombre Powder Brows last for around 1 – 3 years. As with any permanent makeup treatment, the time it lasts can depend on a few things, skin type, your skincare routine and how well you followed the aftercare guidance. Brow Mapping is the most important part for this service, this will show you what your brows will look like. Shape is extremely important especially since this is a permanent makeup treatment, brow mapping will be the longest process during this service. Touch Up Session is scheduled 6 to 12 weeks after the first brow session.
