Today we’d like to introduce you to Montez Brown-mobley
Hi Montez, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Getting started on this journey of mine took a lot of trial and error. Being in the music industry as a recording artist, finding my sound was really a thing. It’s hard when starting out trying to find your sound and trying not to sound like anyone else. Putting in the hours is how you truly find your sound. Making song after song after song until it finally clicks.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. There are a lot of politics and just weaving through them can be challenging. Getting the respect you want for the music you make and for your talents can almost be impossible if you quit. I’ve entered contests and lost due to politics. But for me it wasn’t about winning the contest, it was about winning the hearts of the people.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As stated before I’m a recording artist and I’m known for that. Musically I go by “Young Tez” and kept that name because it’s more than just a name. It’s a brand, it represents the everyday grind and hard work. I’m also known for videography and photography. I’ve done work with everyone from Too Short, Onyx, Slim Thug to having songs with Sean Kingston, Blueface, Mozzy, Twista, and more.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is accomplishing goals I set for myself. Also seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they either hear my music or am around me when I’m in a musical environment.
