Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Palmer
Hi Michael, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in church as a young child. As I grew so did my music taste I went from gospel and old country to rock and roll , heavy metal , bluegrass, blues and my favorite 80s rock
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not been a smooth road at all. I’ve endured many trials and tribulations over the course of my career. From playing to empty bars to medical diagnoses homelessness and the like I’ve never given up
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a musician who plays acoustic and has a band as well. I am most proud of the moments in my career when you can see the change in the crowd as they sing along and watch them forget about life for a while. I am different than most musicians in that I do this full time and my shows are always tailored to the audience. If I see someone in the crowd going through something I try my best to make sure they know the music is there for them. My performances are always for the people the hurting the down the ones who don’t even have a prayer left to pray. I do it for them
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see the changes in the way music will be made and genres crossed. I see more of the folks like jelly roll coming out because he gave them/ us a voice to do so
