Today we’d like to introduce you to Meenu Singh.
Hi Meenu, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my journey at a very young age, facing several personal crises that tested my resilience and shaped my character. Growing up in challenging circumstances forced me to mature quickly and learn how to adapt to tough situations. These experiences fueled my determination to not only survive but also thrive, no matter the obstacles in my way. As I navigated these early difficulties, I developed a strong sense of self-reliance, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of the importance of perseverance.
In my pursuit of personal and professional growth, I initially started working with small businesses. These early roles taught me invaluable lessons about the dynamics of entrepreneurship—how to juggle multiple responsibilities, how to be resourceful, and how to build something from the ground up. Working closely with smaller teams allowed me to wear many hats, gaining experience in everything from operations to customer relations, and marketing to finance. Over time, these experiences gave me a solid foundation and an entrepreneurial mindset.
As my career progressed, I transitioned into roles with larger multinational companies. The shift to working in a corporate environment brought new challenges but also new opportunities for growth. The scale of operations, global reach, and complex organizational structures were vastly different from what I had experienced in smaller businesses, but it allowed me to broaden my skillset. I had the chance to work with diverse teams, tackle larger projects, and develop a deeper understanding of strategic thinking, leadership, and cross-cultural collaboration.
This blend of experiences—starting from the ground up in small businesses and evolving into the world of multinational companies—has given me a unique perspective on both the challenges and rewards of professional life. It taught me the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and leveraging the lessons from each phase of my career. Looking back, I realize how much my early personal struggles and the diversity of professional environments shaped who I am today, and they continue to influence my approach to both work and life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most people who have faced significant personal challenges, the journey has been full of ups and downs, each with its own set of struggles.
Early on, the personal crises I encountered created a foundation of uncertainty and hardship. There were times when it felt like everything was against me—whether it was dealing with family issues, financial struggles, or simply trying to navigate a world that didn’t seem to make sense. These experiences could have easily derailed my path, but they also taught me a lot about resilience and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture.
One of the biggest struggles was balancing my own growth with the challenges I faced. When you’re going through personal turmoil, it’s hard to stay focused on your career or educational goals. I often had to compartmentalize my emotions and push through difficult moments, which could be exhausting. At times, it felt like I was juggling multiple crises—personal, financial, and professional—just trying to keep my head above water.
As I moved into the professional world, working in both small businesses and multinational companies brought new hurdles. In small businesses, resources were always limited, and I had to learn how to be resourceful and flexible. I often found myself wearing many hats, trying to manage multiple roles simultaneously. It was a lot of responsibility, but I learned to manage my time, prioritize, and adapt quickly.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Since the beginning, my journey has never been the same. After completing my Master’s in Chemistry, I dove into various fields, each offering unique experiences and challenges. I started by working as an editor, then transitioned into teaching, and later worked in laboratories across different sectors—pharmaceuticals, metals, and pesticides. Each role exposed me to new environments and areas of expertise, expanding my understanding of different industries and the diverse ways in which they function. Through all of this, I realized that what I had been learning wasn’t just about mastering different skills or gaining knowledge in specific fields; it was about becoming the best version of myself and always doing what is right for others. Whether it was in the lab, in a classroom, or behind an editorial desk, I focused on making meaningful contributions, prioritizing integrity, and ensuring that my work had a positive impact on those around me. These experiences taught me that growth isn’t just about excelling in one area—it’s about being open to learning from everything you do and using those lessons to improve not only your own life but the lives of others as well. This mindset of continuous learning and striving for what’s right has been the foundation of my personal and professional journey.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My brother has undoubtedly played one of the most significant roles in my journey. From the very beginning, he has been a constant source of support, guidance, and encouragement. Whether it was during the toughest personal moments or when I was uncertain about my career path, he was always there to offer a listening ear and sound advice. His perspective has been invaluable, often providing clarity when I was overwhelmed or doubting myself.
Not only has he been a cheerleader, but he’s also challenged me to think differently and pushed me to be the best version of myself. He has an uncanny ability to see things from a different angle, and his constructive feedback has often been the push I needed to grow. Whether it was celebrating achievements together or helping me through setbacks, he’s been a rock throughout my journey.
What I truly appreciate is his selflessness. He never hesitated to offer his help, whether it was giving me advice on tough decisions or offering practical support when I needed it most. His unwavering belief in me, even during times when I wasn’t sure of myself, has been a key factor in my personal and professional growth. In many ways, his presence in my life has been a reminder that having someone who truly cares can make all the difference in the world.
I’m deeply grateful for everything he’s done and continues to do. His role in my success cannot be overstated—his guidance, love, and belief in me have shaped so much of who I am today.
